I love this site.
I sold from this site and bought off this site. As always take an expert horse person with you to make your purchase. Use your own vet to check it for you before you buy. Have a trainer evaluate the horse for your needs.

It is great fun to look at the many of them offered and what the owners write. You can search by state and zero in on your area.

Owning a horse can cost a lot. You want to make sure you have a trainer and someone who can help you learn how to ride. Just the horse alone can cost a lot. Then the feed, tack, grooming supplies, board if have to, farrier, vet and supplements if needed. That can rack up to more then a couple thousand. A good place to look for beginners are equine.com, dreamhorse.com,

the best place to get a horse is strait from a breeder because the ones that are sold online are often from mills that are very cruel and shouldn't be supported. Mares cost around1000-10,000 dollars, and some even more. Ontop of the price of the horse you will need to get grooming tools, food, a stable and you'll need at least 5 achers of land per horse. it may seem like a lot, but it is worth a very happy horse. And for a begginer rider i suggest waiting a while before you buy a horse. research it a little and find someone like me who knows how to ride and raise a horse.

You'll be paying $500 a month for ahorse. DONT BUY A HORSE YET! You just started learning how to ride, you don't know what kind of riding you'll want to do yet, what breed of horse you want. Wait until you've been riding for 2-3 years.

equine.com will find you any type of horse you want. also ask around in your area....its much easier and cheaper to buy a horse in your area, but maybe lessons on a lesson horse would be better first....to make sure you want to dig right in. good luck with it!
