My hair is about bra length and I am going to cut about 4 or 5 inches off Fri 1-5-06 because I am aggravated with it I already have layers and its shaped around my face. My problem is I don't know if this will make it worst or better. My hair is thick and wavy, when I let it air dry its frizzy and messy. I need a hair cut that will work with my wavy hair and when I straighten it. I work inside a shipyard and even though its in the office i still have to wear a hard hat sometimes. this makes my hair a mess. I see other women and there hair looks fine and they wear that stupid hat to. I just want a cut that will look descent with very little effort during my work days.

I have the same problem with my hair (thick and frizzy) and i did the same thing, I cut it too. You know what really work on unruled and thick hair without blow drying or flat ironing it? Get "Downright Smooth" Super-smoothing milk from Loreal Studio Line. You can use it on wet or dry hair and it works. Trust me I was so mad about my hair too, nothing really worked until I found this product! The only thing I used to do before was always blow dry my hair to make it flat and not frizzy, but now I don't really have to.

Hope this works for you and let me know if it did.

There are a few options. You can braid your hair so that it looks nice with the hat on or off, or you can cut it shoulder length. My hair has some wave to it and is shoulder length, and when I want to go curly, I put mousse, pomade or defining cream, gel, then gel spray in it while scrunching the hair to get the curl to come out. The product weighs down any major frizz or flyaways.

Personally, I'm a big fan of long hair but, there does come a time when form must follow function. It's a tough decision surely but I'm sure that you'll make the right one. I'd say your best bet is to go to a higher-end hair dresser and take your hardhat with you so that he/she can see your dilemma first hand. I'm sure that you'll both come up with something that works without looking too "butch" so to speak.

Be sure you get instructions on what to do daily to get your hair done this way. I suggest you blow it dry with products to make you hair straight. You will find the best at www.renefurtereronline.com or www.redkenonline.com

Ask your stylist how you can do this as well and what products you need to do this,
Good Luck
