I am in the process of painting my office in a deep Navy Blue color.

Anyone has

What mood enhancements/changes or behaviours can I expect from it?

Anyone has a similar room?

What can I do to enhance those moods?

Navy blue is my all time favorite color.

Some further information:
- I expect to spend anything from 10 to 15 hours per day in that office
- My mood varies during the day in any space in any business day and in any colored space: from highly energetic to depressed, from creative to dull, from bright to stupid.

Obviously perception is everything, or so it would seem. After applying thousands of gallons of paint, I kind of disagree with darker is smaller. Again however, "Perception" is a byproduct of a mind at play.

It's been theorized and studied in cases using color for mood alteration, IE: Prisons, and it may? I suggest in the case of a prison, it's a moot point in the Big Picture.

How much time do you spend in this office? What is your general mood about spending time in that space? OR any space?

Certainly you can reflect moods through time spent anywhere.

You might consider adding lighting, adding trims that compliment the Blue and distract from the Primary nature of it. You might start by only painting 1 wall, or 3, leaving some complimentary color on opposing walls/wall.

You could, if allowed, spatter paint the base blue with a shade lighter? So many choices are available to you. I suggest a test.

Get a sheet of posterboard or foam core and paint it the color, then play with accents etc. Perhaps paint a large enough piece to sit behind your work space, allowing the eye and mind to accept or reject it?

In my world, my frame of reference, "small" is of little concern. Even in the largest room, I can only occupy a small space at any one time, and in that space my focus is likely on the sanctuary it offers.

STOP - navy blue walls? Really? I think the "mood" will be a real cold, downer. Don't do it. Paint the walls mocha, with white or cream trim. Then use navy blue as an accent color. Accent away! Throw pillows, curtains, art work (www.allposters.com or www.art.com), frames, rug, lamp shade, leather desk chair, etc. I think you'll enjoy the blue A LOT more as beautiful accents all over the room rather than dark, dreary, cold walls.

Well, a dark color is going to make the room look smaller so you may want to ad some bright color accents. Try yellow or light pink or maybe a mint green.

I like bold colors also but navy is not a color I would paint a room I was sitting in too much. Way to drab looking.
