when your tired your body uses all the liquid it has to help create energy. So your body is taking the mositure from your tear duct, and making energy from it.

Because your body is telling you it needed to sleep longer. I'm not sure why your eyes burn- could only speculate that it is because they weren't closed for a long enough period and this is their way of protesting. Probably they're too dry, missing whatever cycle of moisturizing normally occurs in a legitimate sleep cycle. Or, it could be more related to a need for a certain amount of "dark time" and being open too long causes light to make them burn because the retina is exhausted from dialation or something and the constant flow of blood through the tiny vessels in your eye causes the burning sensation. (Like a headache or hangover to your eyeball)Go into a dark room and see if it keeps happening. Yeah, its probably the light causing it.

Let your eyes rest on a green board or something coloured green or blue. It is because of eye strain. it happens to me all the time. That is why i usually allow my eyes to rest every hour by looking at something green.
