This is a true story of the middle ages...Masons and the Churches (Mostly the Vatican) have a strong relationship. Popes, Cardinals, and Bishops like Kings needs great ornate building structures such as Cathedrals to honor their holy work and their own egos. The Mason were the few who can build such complex buildings...so they made a lot of money off the Vatican.
With money comes political power. Also at times when the groups such as the Knights Templars or the Illuminati were hunted down by the Pope...they obtain refuge within the Mason Order.

If a Christian considers his membership in the Masonic order to be something like just belonging to a social club then I can see how someone that joined to be with their friends could be a Mason. But someone who is dedicated to living their life according to Biblical standards and spreading the true gospel of Christ would probably have a problem with being a member of an organization that seems to have a hodgepodge of different religious practices and does not set Jesus above all others.

I don't see why not. From the little I know about the FreeMasons, they are basically an organization that focuses on giving service to others and promoting strong families. This doesn't seem to be contrary to any of the teachings of Christianity.

In the USA, yes it is possible, since Freemasonry in this country is far more concerned with good works than their counterparts in Europe.
In Europe, however, it is still very much a counter-Christian organization. In fact, European Catholics are strictly prohibited from joining their ranks. Even here, Catholics are discouraged from joining although there is no condemnation for those who do.

I asked a good friend of mine who is a mason, and he said yes.He stated everything people say about Freemason's is a lie.It doesn't affect me in any way,so why would I not believe him? He's a God fearing man who is very active in his church doing God's work.
Don't get immersed in the world of conspiracy theories, that crap will rot your brain.

I only know someone that was in it. He said that as you go up the rank, that it becomes a question of what you are worshiping. So he dropped out to follow Jesus.
