For example if someone was to tap my shoulder or I brush up against a blunt object or even if I had a massage I feel as though I have been deeply bruised, but the pain it causes is delayed slightly before I feel it and lasts for quite a while.

I am overwieght so I put it to that but I can't be sure does anyone know if this is a real condition? and if so what is it and how can I treat it?

You need to discuss this with a doctor, there are 2 possibilities and both need treatment;

Hi. This seems like u should go see someone. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Try, this is gonna sound funny, but a Chiropractor - but only the ones that use a device called the "activator" it works with the nervous system and helps get correct signals moving in the body. I've had amazing results from treatment.
Good luck and be safe.
