If there really was a god and the 10 commandments are real how many of you can honestly say they will definately go to heaven??
On the other hand the bible is quite contradictory as god forgives everyone who asks for forgiveness, so does it really matter if we follow the 10 commandments or not as we will get in anyway??
what do you think?

I was heading straight for hell. But then I met my wife who has religion and instead of trying to convert me she simply believed in me and shouwed me that i was loved and that I was important to those around me. Since then I've said to her that she's my ticket into heaven, we're a package deal and she's good enough for the both of us!!

Well since I believe there to be a God and a real 10 commandments then I think the question is probably phrased wrong. First it is not by following the 10 commandments alone that you will enter heaven. You must have accepted Jesus as your savior and truly repented of your sins to obtain the gift of salvation. However, you are still going to sin so you must still ask God's forgiveness as salvation does not give license to do whatever you choose to whomever you choose and not be required to answer for it.

what makes you think those are the only options?

What if the Egyptians were right?

Their afterlife was only to be reached after completing a treacherous journey which included monsters, poison-spitting snakes, fire and boiling lakes.

Apparently, even though you were dead, you could be killed again, this time for good.

If you survived all the dangers there that meant you had made it to the Hall of Two Truths.

Here your heart was weighed on a scale against the Feather of Truth -- this feather containing everything bad you had done in your life.

If your heart outweighed it, then Osiris, Anubis and Thoth, the gods judging the weighing, let you pass and onto Yaru you went.

If the feather was heavier, then your heart was tossed into the waiting mouth of the Devourer, a beast that was part crocodile, part hippopotamus and part lion.

At this point, just like the previous scenario, you were dead for good.

might wana print that...just incase you need it when you die.

I'm living in hell, but I'm supposed to be moving out shortly. Let's hope I find heaven this time.

Actually the Bible isn't the contradictory part. The "Christians" are the ones that mis-interpret the Bible to make it contradictory. Hell isn't the fire and brimstone crap that people preach. And heaven is a long ways off for all of us. Find a new interpreter before you give up all hope hun.

I know I am going to be with the Lord in Heaven. No man or woman can live up to the 10 commandments because we sin daily, but only through Jesus will we be saved.

Anyone who believes they are separate from God and who is controlled by their ego, is already living in hell. When a person realises that they have never been separate from God and is willing to relinquish their attachment to the ego and the material world, then they will achieve a level of consciousness which can be classified as heaven. Most of us are currently living in hell right now.

it says to enter the kingdom of Heaven you must be born again so yes i'm going to Heaven ...and If you make that committment 10 minutes before you die and ask for forgivness then yes yo will be saved but Gods wants you to have the experience of his love and promises right now while you are here so the sooner you do it the better life you can have

Some are taught in church that Hell is a place of suffering where evil souls go and Heaven is where good people go.

This is not a bible teaching:

Did Abraham die and went to a ever-burning hell? Surely idol worshippers would not be in heaven. Yet, Abraham was with his forefathers, Scripture says.
Joshua 24:2 - "Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor; and they served other deities," Genesis 15:15. "And you shall go to your fathers".

King David was a righteous king he must of gone to heaven? NO?
Acts 2:34 - For David did not ascend into the heavens.

When Lazarus died Jesus spoke to Martha that he was in Heaven? NO?
John 11:11 - Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

Besides Jesus there must of been some one righteous enough to go to heaven? NO?
John 3:13 - No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

When Jesus kingdom arrives he promised the good will go to heaven. NO?
Matthew 5:5 - Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Surely people who are holy as saints and priests will rule with Jesus in heaven? NO?
Revelation 5:10 - You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

finally, the second death (from Rev 21:8) is a location for bad people to suffer in a fiery place. NO?
Rev 20:14 - And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

-The Second death is a judgment not a location. Jesus is promising that those who are not wicked will be resurrected and never die again.

Verdict: Death is Hell. It's the grave where we are like in a sleep like state but have no conscience thought. Waiting to be brought back to life if we have followed Jesus teachings.

I try to do something good every single day. I would drop a couple of pence into a tin, compliment someone on their outfit, just generally being kind. Hopefully i will score points, i have done things in my life i am not proud of . Sometimes i think i am an Angel but then my mother always used to say, JAA, Jimmy is sitting on your shoulder, just ready to lead you up the wrong path. Did not help smacking him off my shoulder either, he just jumped right back. I really don't know where i am going to end up and i am not going to worry about it. I do know for sure that my Father -in-Law is still in his grave he drank so much the was well pickled.:)

I don't think.....
I know I am bound for Glory based on God's promise and the saving blood of Jesus Christ.
God will save those who ask according to His plan.
Sadly, we will not all get there for many have hardened their hearts to God, even denying His existence.
He is what God says:
John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ (God in the flesh)
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, werily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the worls to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in thename of the only begotten Son of God."
