The drive by the Christian right to take control of military chaplaincies, which now sees radical Christians holding roughly 50 percent of chaplaincy appointments in the armed services and service academies, is part of a much larger effort to politicize the military and law enforcement. This effort signals the final and perhaps most deadly stage in the long campaign by the radical Christian right to dismantle America’s open society and build a theocratic state. A successful politicization of the military would signal the end of our democracy. { Chris Hedges, . The former New York Times Mideast Bureau chief }
Is this effort but another power grab by Christian Dominionists?

Can you call a person a doctor if he does not practice or do doctors work?

The military should be able to pray whenever and where ever they so desire.And yes,we should always have military chaplain's.

I dare you to try to stop a Marine with deep religious conviction's from praying.It would be a bad day for you,and anybody else within reach.

Religion is Evil. So all of the extreme evil followers of evil religion will try to take over. they are evil people. It really does not matter if it's the Christians trying to control the Military Chaplain service or the Extremist Sunni and Shiite Iraqi government. Evil finds a way.
Religion is made for killing and mind control. It is EVIL

They are pernicious. The right-wing religious fanatics must be marginalized as they represent a clear and present danger to freedom and The Constitution. A little bit of religion is like a little bit of syphilis, unless eradicated, it always gets worse.

Yes-it is a power grab. And, as far as I am concerned, the Christian Right has no business controlling anything. They are fanatics.

Of course they should not.

The FIRST obligation of any miltary person is to defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights, which guarantee us freedom of religion.

Absolutely. Onward Christian soldiers, apparently. Anyone else isn't "good enough" to be considered a patriot and want to defend our country. It makes me quite ill.
