Peace be with you,

It's not a prediciton but a fact given to us by GOD as a warning. If we know the consenquences we can make chices better now to save ourselves when the day comes. No one knows when it will happen except for GOD. He gave us the signs as proof.

A bit of a complicated question--but here's my answer, for what its worth--

Both Christianity and Islam have relligious texts that are "prophetic"--and teach that the prophecies are revelations from God. What both religions teach is that such "predicting" is the preogative of the Divine, however. For people to go beyond these texts and attempt to use spiritual or "magical' powers to fortell the future is condemned.

That's the "mainstream" teaching. There are nevertheless sects within both religions that practice prophesying--and argue (naturally enough) that "their predicting" is accceptable. But for the most part this is a marginal aspect ofboth religions.

Allah says in the Quraan, “Verily! Allah, with Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the womb. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware.” [Soorah Luqman (31): 34]

Allah subhanawalatala is our creator and when a creator creates something he knows everything about it from A to z.suppose if u create few things u being a human being what do u expect from the thing u created, obviously u expect it to work as per the shedule u set.similarly Allah swt has send an instruction manual for us that is the holy quran and it shows us how to lead this life so that we r not harmed but it also gives precautions and if u do so and so u will be punished. He is so kind and merciful that he even gives us ordained time to look over what we r doing, till then if we realize we will be saved but if dont we r the losers and he keeps the final punishment on the day of judgement. This is his superiority. if u see a teacher and a student, when a student disobeys he gets the punishment then and there, but Allah is far more merciful than a teacher.HE ALONE IS OUR CREATOR ,SUSTAINER,AND HE ALONE WILL RAISE US ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.HE ALONE HAS THE KNOWLEDGE OVER ALL THINGS.

We recognize the existence of differences of thought in different religions and even within each religion. Some concepts that is similar. While Muslims believe in soul, Hindus believe that the atman passes from body to body after death through a repeated cycle known as samsara, something foreign to Muslim mind. There are other aspects like “the period of the grave” which is difficult for Hindus and even Christians to conceive.

When comes to Heaven and Hell, Hindus think of hell it may not invoke the intensity of concern and fear as much as a Muslim. The attitude may be different for the Hindus, who have acknowledge that one will be reincarnated and thus feel less pressured to live a righteous life on earth. In Islam, we are given one life for us to settle everything. The warnings of punishment against mischief in the Quran not only serve as a reminder but to guide Muslims so that they are not in error. Thus Judgment day is when all deeds will be accounted for. Hope this helps.

You are right that Islam forbids fortune telling & predicting the future. However, when you read anything of the future from The Koran, the Islamic Holy Scripture, you are not reading the predictions of the future. You are actually getting real informations of the future from GOD the creator of everything.

bro...i am not a very learned person(in the intricacies of islam and major religions) but as far as i can tell you...islam does notpredict the future... as you have questioned but islam is telling it to you with a 100% certainity, because Allah does not predict in the quran...(for he has no need to do so) he is telling his followers and non bleivers alike that such a day will come and it can not be diverted or postponed...(it is mentioned to the extent in the quran that it will come on a friday)

hope it answers your query......peace out

It's not a prediction. John never gave a date or a time, he just wrote down what God allowed him to see.
