The most fattening thing you can eat is fat/oil. Most direct into your system, most calories, and target heart rate exercise to get it off. Arghh. Reality flash: Purified fat has no flavor what so ever; it only absorbs other flavors and has "mouth feel." Use commercial salad dressings with zero fat in the ingredients list. Kraft makes basic flavors. Take your own to a restaurant; lots of non-suckers do. If you want to make your own, get some no-sugar-added pectin. Ask in the grocery store for the jelly making supplies. Every store has a small section. Whirl that in a blender with a base of tomato sauce or non-fat yogurt. Add the seasonings of your favorite salad dressing recipe. This is the general principle by which commercial fat-free salad dressings are made, i, e., with pectin or various other emulsifiers.

Oh boy yes they are!! Crackers are terrible because they appear so insubstantial but in reality they are full of fat! Salad dressings are a nightmare. Kraft make some lite ones, but they are no substitute for the lovely Ranch and Blue Cheese! You can really tell the difference. If you're looking to lose weight you're onto a loser! Baked potato is fine with baked beans (I found they were life-savers when I was dieting). Tuna is also good, so long as you don't mix it with full-fat mayo!

Balsamic Vinegar, it tastes great and with out the oil to make it a vinaigrette it's fat free, but if you wanted to try something that was really low in fat Kraft makes a Ranch dressing that's both low in fat and calories called going light. Even though it's a "light" dressing it tastes like the real thing. Also try fresh squeezed lemon it's good too.

Well, I use very tasty non-fattening salad dressing, which is made with freshly squeezed lemon, with a teensy bit of low-fat or extra-light olive oil mixed in it, and lastly just a bit of salt. It's a bit tangy but it's filling and low-fat.

I top my salads with parmesan, crumbled feta, and soft tofu - and I don't miss the dressing! You can experiment with making your own dressings, based around lemon juice, vinegar, and spices (all very low-cal!) and a bit of olive oil. You don't need a recipe for it - really, you don't even need to mix the ingredients all together before putting them on your salad.
Good luck!

They have italian seasoning packs in the grocery store that you can mix with vinegar. You are supposed to put oil in them too, but you can substitute water or more vinegar depending on how you want it to taste.
