Im in the market for a 37"LCD and was looking at the Emerson, Magnavox well as the Polariod LCD's at Walmart. Was wondering if anyone has bought or know of anyone with one of these units? Wondering which of the three would be the better deal?

Thanks!

I just shopped and educated myself on LCD's and Plasma TV's. Here's what i found out. When talking about "major" brand names shop by the numbers. There's the resolution number (over all picture clarity and the contrast number (dark contrast to light). In both cases the higher the number the better.

I shopped Wally World and found they had cheap prices but they also had the lowest numbers in the shopping by number scale.

I ended up buying a 42" plasma by HP at Best Buy. The limit of 60,000 hours didn't bother me because I don't watch that much TV so I opted for the better picture. If your TV is on more then 6 hours a day you are better off with a LCD. It wasn't the lowest price, but it was a good value over all.

Let a sales person educate you. I trust Circut City the most on that aspect.

Good Luck

good answer, dont buy at walmart they only got the cheapies there. and with hdtvs you definetily get what you pay for. but for brand names you picked i would go with the magnavox. it its the better of the 3. magnavox is owned by phillips and is good quality. dont buy a polariod they make cameras not tvs. probaly not good quality. emerson is ok they are now owned by a chinese company call funai they also own slyvania and symphonic . i would go to best buy . and ask some one with some knowledge
