A single fertilised ovum is a cell which will later become an embryo. All parts of human or animal body originally start as a single cell later differentiated to multiple tissues,organs and systems. The original single cell divides into two,two to four four to eight and so on before differentiation. These original cells are called stem cells. Stem cells can be cultured in diffrent media to get different tissues and end organs.Stem cells can virtually repair any part of human or animal body by supplying fresh tissues.Biotechnological process of stem cell growth will theoretically cure any disease in human or animal body.

During the embryonic development of an organism, there are cells called stem cells which are responsible for the formation of the organs at that level. These cells become inactive after the child is born. Scientists are trying to activate these cells so that if any of the body organ is lost (due to accident or something), we can replace it.
