I do understand you, He did seem pretty active sometimes in the Old Testament, but since then, I don't know. I guess He's pretty intimate with the televangelists though. They're always saying how He told them things, especially about sowing your seed.

He's been busy creating an infinite number of 'alternative universes!' Just to put the cosmologist's off his trail... Because he was existence's first ever practical joker after all.^^

because ones "demand" how God works, they feel they have the right to say: "Well, since he hasn't spoken to me voice to voice, as ** I WANT **" then he must not exist. That's not arriving at God's existence due to proofs and reasoning. That's trying to pscyhoanalyze a persons existence by his actions. Which is impossible. You can't say: "I don't believe a man by the name of Joe lives in India, because he's never talked to me". That's not arriving at a conclusion by means of proofs. That's trying to arrive at a conclusion based on personal preference.
"Rest" is the best word we have for that word. It carries the connotation of simply ceasing from a particular work. That does not mean all work. As Jesus said:
"The man went away and told the Jews it was Jesus that made him sound in health. So on this account the Jews went persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things during Sabbath. But he answered them: “My Father has kept working until now, and I keep working." - John 5:15-17
His opposers, as well, could not wrap their head around the concept of resting on the Sabbath, and the idea of continuing his work on the 7th rest day, which we are still inside of, according to Moses, Jesus and Paul.
Then why can't people see it? Or CHOOSE to see it?
The apostle Paul wrote an interesting little scripture that addresses the concept of when people want to "argue" that God has done nothing (in their eyes) since the worlds creation. (As if, he should behave according to their wish, and their estimation of how he should act. As if the Almighty was answerable to them)
"For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable; because, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God nor did they thank him, but they became empty-headed in their reasonings and their unintelligent heart became darkened. " - Romans 1:20,21
For those who have come to know him, they understand that he is incredibly busy. The operation of the Christian congregation, by the administration of the head of the congregation, Jesus Christ, and his invisible organization in the heavens organizing the visible imperfect organization on the earth. The gathering of all things together again. That he is currently laying the foundation now, with a great ingathering, of the New World society that the Kingdom will rule over.
If 7,000,000 people came up to you and said: God directly answered our prayers, and invetervened in matters!! Would you believe them? No. If they offered you proof? Probably not. The way you phrased the question, shows that you look for your own proof, and that if it doesn't fit into that view, then it's not "proof".

What would it prove, would it change your mind about anything,if it did how would such a doubting world react, his word has survived almost everything thrown at it ,and still survives above all else and how many people make a real effort to learn its basic teachings other than read it.The Jews looked for something really B I G when Jesus came ,and they were given every sign with their knowledge and what did that nation's leaders do?

Well, if you believe the Bible, and you must if you accept the idea that He rested on the 7th day, then you have to believe the Bible when it says in Hebrews 1:3 "...upholds all things by the word of His power." Today He is sustaining His creatin. Of course you probably think that just happens all by itself.

God does answer prayer. The Bible says he continually sustains His creation. If He didn't it would be gone. And besides this, Jesus went to prepare a place for us believers. And I believe He is still working on these places (mansions) for us.

God does not owe us an explanation, when you see his heavens, the works of his hands, the moon and the stars that he has prepared, what is mortal man that he should you keep us in mind?
As a Creator, he continues to work. Is he ignoring what is happening here? Certainly not, but in the Garden of Eden a challenge was presented to him, that man could govern himself without interference from God and that we would do just fine. Jehovah has agreed to let us try it our way. When will mankind recognize that it isn't working, we need his help? Surely there are many crying out to him for help, but the majority does not. He has a plan set in motion for a time when he will step in and correct the mess we have made for ourselves. He will not act until that time but that time is coming and it is soon.
“The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying [of it] very much. The sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a mighty man is letting out a cry. 15 That day is a day of fury, a day of distress and of anguish, a day of storm and of desolation, a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick gloom, 16 a day of horn and of alarm signal, against the fortified cities and against the high corner towers. 17 And I will cause distress to mankind, and they will certainly walk like blind men; because it is against Jehovah that they have sinned. And their blood will actually be poured out like dust, and their bowels like the dung. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s fury; but by the fire of his zeal the whole earth will be devoured, because he will make an extermination, indeed a terrible one, of all the inhabitants of the earth.”
2 Gather yourselves together, yes, do the gathering, O nation not paling in shame. 2 Before [the] statute gives birth to [anything], [before the] day has passed by just like chaff, before there comes upon YOU people the burning anger of Jehovah, before there comes upon YOU the day of Jehovah’s anger, 3 seek Jehovah, all YOU meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably YOU may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger. ZEPHANIAH 1:14-2:3

No one can ever see God--that's why He sent His Son, Jesus, (human form of God) to earth to spread the Word, to be persecuted, and to die for you and your sins. He is in control of all things and ALL THINGS work for the good, for those that love the Lord.

I believe that the Bible shows us that He has been very active in the affairs of mankind. To me, the greatest would be Christ's birth, death and resurrection.
