I agree with Tiffinay, I'm not going to tell anyone how to catch a cat when I don't know WHY they want to catch it.

First, be very careful. If it is a wild cat it could bite you and cause a great amount of infection, swelling and pain. I would suggest calling your local animal control. In our area they will provide you with a free humane trap. If not, I suggest you buy one at your local spots and outdoor store. Then just set the trap using canned cat food. Once the cat is caught you can carry the cat and trap to the animal shelter.

If it is your neighbors cats I'm wondering why you want to catch them. If they are creating a problem then I suggest you speak with your neighbors. Be nice! But let them know that you mean business. If their cats are destroying or disturbing you then you can take action. If the situation doesn't improve then let them know you intend to take action.

Good luck and remember to be humane.

Havahart or similar trap baited with the stinkiest canned catfood you can find works well.

Good luck with your catching them. It's a shame that people let their cats breed and dump the kittens. Around here street cats are usually caught by the street dogs or the automobile.

I hope you would want to catch it so you can spay/neuter it and not to bring it any harm. I have caught 100's to spay/neuter them. I am the one the group I work with calls when there are cats that seem uncatchable. I would tell you the best ways, but you did not specify why you want to do it.

Get a can of cat food and set it right inside your door---keep a close eye and then shut the door when he's inside---or get a trap that closes automatically when the animal gets inside it
