I have blonde hair and I am naturally pretty fair. I'm thinking of going for darker blond/brown streaks (as opposed to highlights) - any suggestions?
:) In need of a change

You want low lights with foils and be sure you go to a hair color expert so they know what to use. A semi will be a good start in case you don't like it. It will wash out in 6 weeks or so.
Good luck

WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! If blonde ,do not use anything with ASH! Your hair will turn blonde with green cast, maybe all green, and watch out for colors with "Golden" words, they grab a red bronz color. I was blonde,I went on a search for anything with the words Natural in it. Like natural brown .You can do this, buy a natural light brown, and a natural dark brown, and get some foil, any will do really, and cotton balls, IF you want more dark than light, take a small section at a time in your hand ,apply dark color, being careful not to get any on all hair and then wrap it in the foil, use cotten ball to put under hair at root, then alternate with lighter color ,do the same over and over ,apply lighter where you want it to look like you have natural high lights. It looks great, and then go to a salon and get a new cut that is hot, right now the blunt cut on long or even short hair is in.

I think that would probably look really good as long as you don't go too dark. Too dark would make you look like a zebra. Go to a good salon and have a consultation. There are a few in my area that specialize in hair coloring. Look for something like that. Good luck!

GOOD THINKIN!

it will make your hair appear thicker and longer, too.
do the 'lowlites' (not hilites) in super fine pieces to make the hair appear darker all over.
do the 'lowlites' a bit heavier and thicker and it will appear thicker, longer.
you can do one shade in super fine and another shade thicker and heavier - this looks incredible!!!

I have tried that a million time and for many years. Sounds good but never works. (I'm a slow study) You are talking about a lot of work and money keeping that up.
