Simply " I'm sorry , I don't want to offend you but I'm not interested in dating you." is honest and better than stringing him along with some hope. This could hurt, you be the judge here.

Try " Thank You but I'm not dating anyone else at this time."

I admire you for not wanting to hurt his feeling. Being kind is so nice of you. I myself have been rejected as I am sure everyone in there lifetime has and it can be very painful to some. Others can brush it off and move on with no problem. I've seen my 5 children, who are now grown, through a lot. I think girls take rejection the hardest, but that is my opinion only.
Good Luck, I know you will handle it just fine.
I wish there where more young people like you.

Tell him that you value your friendship with him to enter into something more and possibly jeopardize what you have as friends. A man hates to hear that a girl wants to be "just friends", but they usually back off.

well in a conversation to him ask his advice about an imaginary friend: say that this one guy totally likes you and that you think hes nice but that you are not ready for a relationship yet and that you don't know what to say to him. then he will get the idea. or just do what my friend does: "I'm against relationships." "Love does not exist" "Marriage is so stupid"

Time to stop being soft and kind...otherwise you are asking for trouble. Tell him, "No." and ask him to leave you alone. If he violates your space again, it's stalking.

It's okay to say, "No." I wish more moms would teach their daughter how important it is to say it and mean it.
