Leading someone on can mean you having deep feelings for that person and them breaking your heart. Keep things going at a slow pace and ask them for details on what exactly they meant by having the tendency to lead others on.

Those other guys are just complicating things for u. Listen up, "Leading someone on" simply means to convince someone to feel the way u are pretending to feel, forcing them to do or say (or act) things that they're only doing because of your influence. When actually u feel totally opposite of how u "LEAD" them to believe u felt.

Most people apply it to just relationships, but it's like, what if the teacher is being nice to u although u know u haven't been doing your work. U think he's gonna past u, but come report card day u still fail. All he did was lead u on to think u were passing.

So be careful when ":eand someone on" cuz u can really mess someone up bad!

theres two types to that, one in a relationship type of meaning and another on a purely friend level, but both are NOT of a positive nature. to "Lead" someone on means that they are unsure of how they are feeling, but continuing to reassure you that they feel a certain way (for example they tell you that htey love you) but in reality thier real emotions are doubted. When someone leads you on, it means that you are mislead in what they might be really feeling versus what thye've been telling u this whole time.

It means they made you think that they had romantic feelings for you when really they do not. The Bastards!

Just so you know though, some people do actually do this on accident, and if he/she said that to you, then chances are they DID NOT intentionally do it. And you were not "played" it was just a mistake.

That you flirt enough that these other people think they have a chance and get their hopes up for nothing. Flirting's fun, but you have to draw a line.
