My mom and some of my friends don't like me drinking so now instead of beer I drink vodka because I heard somewhere that you can't smell it on a person's breath. Is this true?

That's not true at all! If people are drinking vodka, I can smell it as soon as I walk in the room.

It is true that VODKA has no distinct odour. However, the ALCOHOL in the vodka has a distinct aroma so, while your parents will not smell the strong flavour of beer, they may still smell alcohol. Mouthwash also contains a large proportion of alcohol to kill bacteria, although it is usually flavoured with mint or other scents. If you drink vodka and then chew gum, you will find it has a similar flavour and smeel to regular mouthwash (and can actually have much the same effect in curing halitosis - though much more expensive).

Don't believe it!!!!! You can smell it on someone's breath, if they drink a lot of vodka. If you're next to them the next day, you can smell the vodka coming through their pores. Ewwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's sounds nasty but it's true. Just ask a Navy guy.

No. Vodka has a distinct smell. It is less powerful than beer or flavored alcoholic drinks, which have other odors in addition to alcohol.

very not true.
i can smell alcolhol on someones breath quite easily.

dont drink alone- thats the ticket to alcolholism.
you may have some issues you need to address. if you are underage thats one issue. if you are drinking daily or every weekend thats a big problem you need to look at. if you are losing friends due to your drinking thats a very very big sign of trouble.
