Saul, 1st King of Israel, consulted with a witch at the town of Endor. He wanted her to call up the deceased Prophet Samuel. She actually called up a demon & it told Saul some things that were true, but it lied about being Samuel. Saul had been rejected by God & David had been Annointed to be King of Israel. God forbid traffic in witches, necromancers, sorcerers and the like because the dead cannot commune with the living (see the story of Lazarus & the Rich Man, it's not a parable, because a parable never uses a person's name) & God didn't want His people deceived.

King Saul consulted the witch of Endor in I Samuel 28:7-14. This is the only account in the Bible of such events.

Is this what you are asking about?
Saul consulted the Witch of Endor in order for her to call up the shade of the deceased prophet Samuel.
This did NOT increase his popularity with Yahweh. Nor did it ultimately solve his problems as God had already chosen his replacement, ie, David and wasn't about to change His mind.
