The easiest way to improve your writing skills is to in fact write more.
That said, here are the others:
1. Read More: Read a News paper everyday, and when you see an error or a bad turn of phrase, pull out an ink pen and rewrite the sentence.
2. Read More Part 2: Read a book every three days. Everyone can read a page in a minute or less given enough practice. Instead of watching TV 2-4 hours a night read a book. 120-240 minutes a night is a decent sized book every three days.
3. Blog: Pick a subject you care about and blog about it. It doesn't even need to be ploitical. If Cars are your thing, you're in luck. Start with mailing lists like yahoo groups and move on to Blogger and Livejournal. Comment constructively 2X as much as you post.
4. Keep your thoughts moving. When you find yourself an empty void and you're not meditating, activate your neurons and find something to write about. An Ode to a toenail clipping, you found on the passenger seat this morning, may not seem useful but it builds up your skill and your confidence.
5. Use a Dictionary and a Thesaurus on a daily basis. If you don't know a word from your reading, stop and look it up. If you use the same word twice in a piece, look up a synonym in a Thesaurus.
good Luck

If you are writing shorts...700 to 1500 words try taking pictures with words. Look outside your window and write a descriptive paragraph about a scene you see. You can do this anywhere. Also you need to write about things you are interested in or want to learn more about...start and idea book that you carry with you and can add to all the time. You can put articles that you'd like follow up on, random thoughts, questions that pop into your head...whatever. Try to add at least one thing everyday...and review your ideas for even more ideas. It works! Never look at a paper in terms of paragraphs or pages always look at word counts because as you start to write professionally for magazines and newspapers that is what they look at. Vary you sentence structure...some long. Some short. Avoid filler words like and, and the. Edit yourself all the time. After you finish a paper put it down and go back then edit it after a few hours or a day. Read the book On Writing Well by William Zinsser. Good luck.

Since you are studying journalism,
you have to read a lot.
1Please read senior journalists'
views on any subjent throughly,
and then write the same thing
in your own language.
2. Start wrting essays on any subject
and see it later, if you can
improve upon.
3. Have to read a lot. News papers
of all kinds, books of all kinds,
4. Go to such places, where
seniors gets to talk on any subjects
, may be clubs, group discussions,
seminars, panel discussions, discourses
and start writing notes at home.
these will increase your skills.

Keep writing!
Also, when you read, pay attention to the author's style, the use of grammar and punctuation.
Notice how the author describes people and places.
When you read books, either fiction or non-fiction, study the writing while you enjoy the story.
And, work on improving and expanding your vocabulary.
But keep writing....that's the best way to write better is to write!
(even letters to friends! if a friend or relative praises your latest letter or email as being really good and fun to read that's proof that your writing has improved!)
