Most definitely. While I agree with you that the general broadcast picture comes in just beautifully, The high definition channels are way better. I have seen some concert footage on the HD network that were so life like, I felt as if I was sitting on the stage. Everything is so crisp. Plus most HD channels broadcast in a widescreen format, so if you are watching a regular broadcast, you are seeing only about 2/3 of the picture or the regular broadcast is letterboxed to make up for the fact that they cant broadcast widescreen, whereas the HD version of the same show is not letterboxed.
So, yes, I would say it is worth it, and more channels are coming out all the time.

It will be. The problem at the moment is that although the programming is being transmitted in HD, around 80% of it wasn't *recorded* in HD. There's very little difference in picture quality for this stuff, but if you watch something that was recorded in HD on a full HD TV... it's incredible.
Go down to any showroom and ask if they're displaying HD DVD players on a full HD LCD TV. Then compare that picture to the rest of the stuff in the showroom.

Our neighbors have HDTV and honestly, I can't tell the difference.
They have a really nice 42" flat screen television, and when we watch a DVD over there, it's really an acute and clear picture, but when they switch to the HDTV, I couldn't see a difference.
I don't think it's worth the extra money!

I heard that there are loads of problems with HD at the moment so I'd wait. Also heard that another HD box is being launched later this year, and once that's released I would imagine the existing ones would become more competitively priced.

Its not worth the money but i don't have anything else to waste it on and am happy to enjoy the better pictures. If you want an even better picture get an LCD they have a much clearer picture and use a lot less electricity.
