Staying for two nights in feb, on a weekend, no specific dates, anyone know of a good place? Cheapness very much the order of the day. Target being a room less the then £40 per night. (Not per person per night).

you pessimistic bunch. As none of you provided an answer, I looked myself, which is kind of pointless, shoulda been called "yahoo suggestions". Ive found one, slap bang in the middle of town, and have booked it already, paying £30 for an ensuite double room. (thats £15 EACH!) Ha ha ha ha

If you want a "good place" at the best price you may want to check out some of the last minute prices, but rarely will you find them below $100 [ 50 pounds approx. ].

Many 3 and 4 star hotels will offer a deal like this in the off season, and Feb certainly is low season, but for the extra 10 quid you may find some free extras thrown in, which you might have spent anyway. So check out the value rather than just the pure price. Personally, for a private weekend i prefer the anomnity of a hotel or large guest house, which generally has beter service.

A great website for accomodation in the UK and which might be useful for Stratford on Avon in Cheaper than hotel, where hotels put their last minute deals up. If you want to book ahead i think you may find some early bird discounts as well.

Wow... good luck!! Personally, I reckon you have zero chance of finding (I presume a double) somewhere actually IN Stratford for that... Church Farm in Dorsington is a few miles out but nice enough but you're looking at 50 quid even then...Cheapest in town are probably Curtain Call or First Night and they're around 55 - 60 per night...

in stratford are you mad? or is it just wishful thinking? you'd be much better if you went to leamington spa, warwick or coventry for a cheap stopover. its 20 mins from cov to stratford. and 10 from warwick / leamington / kenilworth. and they offer B&B from around £20 per person.

oh, how do i know? i live in coventry...
