Yes He did die for all our sins, was buried and was raised again and is currently in Heaven with God.

Read below and emphasis on the last verse 20.

13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

Well as is fortold by the prophet Jesus indeed did come and die and rise again. This is comfirmed in the bible new testiment and if fortold in the torah and the prophets writing of the dead sea scrolls. More then that are the 500 writen accounts of people who witnessed the risen savior Jesus after the third day. each of which were murdered with out recanting there written statements and suffered all manner of death without recanting a single word. There is also the record of the Roman army about Jesus. And Millions of Christans that to this very day declare they know Him and that he speak to them. So is Jesus risen. Indeed he is.

The question as to why Jesus came to earth has been debated for thousands of years. At the time that theology books were being written there were two major discussions going on. One taught that Jesus died to save us and to open the gates of heaven. The other said that by saying that we controlled the reason Jesus came. We are saying that sin caused Jesus to come to save us. The second or Franciscan thoughts of Don Scotus believed that Jesus came because God loved us and wanted to live among us and to show us how to be better people. That even if we killed Jesus, God would forgive us.
We know now that heaven's gates were never closed as the reason (Adam + Eve's sin) never happened. I like the Franciscan understanding of Theology which is today making a comeback.

That depends. Are you a devout Christian?

If so, then yes.

If not, then no.

It's an issue of faith. By all scientific accounts, resurrection is utterly impossible. Yet, as no one that was alive two millenia ago can testify either way on the issue, there's always that small, almost infinitesimal doubt.

If you want to believe that he did, then you will. If you don't, then you won't. Simple.

Colossians 1:18 "He (Jesus) is the beginning, the FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD, that he might become the one who is first in all things; 19 because [God] saw good for all fullness to dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile again to himself all [other] things by making peace through the blood [he shed] on the torture stake..."

Jesus' resurrection is our guarantee that we will also be resurrected.

Not exactly.
He died because he was constantly upsetting some local power at be in a time when freedom of speech was not a priority.
The body went missing.

The rest is fantasy in an interesting chapter of middle eastern tales and legends.

actually he probably died around the year 26 CE. As for the other part, it's all in what you believe, as we do not have any primary sources for this event.

Jesus did die - whether or not he rose again is a matter of speculation and faith.
