well, if you completely stop eating your body will start using its reserve energy storages.

the liver will release glucogen and turn it into glucose for energy metabolism.

when the gluccose storages are finished, fatty acids (fat storage) wil be broken down for energy. ketone bodies will now be the main energy molecule for the brain, as the brain normaly uses glucose for energy. your breath will begin to smell of acetone. one of the sighns of bolhemic and anorexic people.

when the fat stores are finished up, the body starts degrading muscle mass, but this stops after a while.
after that aminoacids will be broken down for energy.

after that you die!!!
takes about 2 weeks or so, depending on your fat stores in the body

If you drink water you can go on for quite a long time without eating. Depending on your reserves of body fat it'll be weeks rather than days. Eventually you will start to consume yourself though, apparently it's a painful way to die.

you can survive for 3 weeks without food. your body will eat all of your fat storage, and then proceed to eat your muscles and organs for energy.
