The best way to thank your parents is being the best adult that you can be based on the training that they gave you or surpassing their expectations. Each parent wants better than they had for their children.

My mom did not have the opportunity for a secondary/ high school education, so she made sure that all her kids reached tertiary/ college education.

She is proud that we have all met/ surpassed her education level. We are all, except the last who is presently in university, gainfully employed and with marriages on solid foundation.

We also ensure that she has the added luxuries she still would give herself- air conditioning at home, financial assistance even when she insists she is okay, the occasional tickets to some function or the other, occasionally calling and telling her dress, we're taking her out to dinner. Tonight, my fiance and I are taking my mom and 19yr old sis to the circus.

It may not seem like much but it means the world to her to be included in our activities. The tickets are not expensive so it really is the thought that counts.

Everyone has different ideas on how to show love and affection. No answer you get will be the ONE, you will find a way that will reflect you and how well your parents raised you. I have 3 kids (10, 6, 3) they show me by the little things they do now. My Parents did a great job with me and my bro, we show it by being there for them, telling them thanks for some small word of advise they had given us or some other things they did. So You could take them out, you could buy them very nice things, there is a lot that you can do, but you know your parent best, so look at what they have done for you and base your thanks on that!

I once wrote a letter to my mother and mentioned some of the things that she had done for me. I told her how proud I was to be her son and how I hoped that she was as proud to be my mother. When she passed away some years later I found that letter along with any card that I had sent to her in her special things she kept. It must have been twenty years later. I am so happy that I took the time to write the letter. I loved her dearly and she made me very proud that I was her son.

I think the best way to say thank you is to live a good life. Of course I think telling them how much you appreciate everything they've done for you is a good idea too and I'm sure it would mean alot to them.

in my opinion the best thing you can do is show them you care for them in actions, not words. be there when they need you, and visit them often. think of what you would like your children to do in order to thank you. perhaps do something special like a surprise family gathering on your mum's/dad's birthday is a good idea. overall, show them you care for them in any way you think is best!

There is nothing to thank them literaly, for what they have done. its their duty. But you have to reaveal your thanks buy positioning your self in an esttem position in your society. There is a saying by the great poet and philosopher "Thiruvalluvar" in Tamil language (India). "You should make a living in the manner that your parents are identified by you."
