We are staying in a tropical city so baths isn't always practical when it's hot. And not to mention a waste of water. My kiddo is 2 years old and i was wondering when i can swtich to a permanant shower for him. Right now, its alternate shower and baths.

My son loves both baths and shower. Anything except washing his hair... But we try to make it fun for him. Sometimes it works and sometimes he still fusses

Since toddlers aren't supposed to be in a lot of water anyway, it doesn't take much water for a two-year-old to have a bath.
You could even have him sit in a baby tub, which would use less water.
Just thought I'd include a water-saving tip in case he likes baths best.
(I've always been under the impression that showers use more water than baths do - but I guess it depends on the shower and the bath.)

Most toddlers and young children hate showers. We had baths right up to 12 years of age. Personally I would go with sponge baths and baths until your child is at least 4 or 5 but never having been pushed to have a shower at a young age I can't say what your best option is. For young children, a hand held shower head would seem like an easy and enjoyable way to have a shower or for them to get used to a shower vs a bath.

my 3 year old and my 8 year old both take baths and showers. To them it only changes the game a little, the boats are sinking in the ocean to it's raining and the men can't get ahold of the boat, but then again my boys are kind of weird.
Showers are fine, just remember that ether way getting clean and having fun is the key.

I think it depends on how your child reacts to showers vs baths. Does your baby get clean enough in a shower for proper hygeine? My daughter is 18 months and loves to play in the shower, but, sometimes she just needs that sit down and playtime soak to really get the grime out of all the little places. It's reallt up to you and your child. Make sure the child is clean and sanitary and as long as he/she doesn't fight a shower, then it's alright.

Anytime is ok for your 2yo to have showers. Just make it something special or fun so they prefer it. Perhaps you could try with the "big kids have showers" talk.

There is no age limit to bath time, especially if it is fun for him. I think that you are doing the right thing by alternating.
