I am much less than 60 and I got a kick out of that :-) This piece must have been going around for a while, though, because a lot of those things were invented much more than 60 years ago. Penicillin was invented in 1928, for example! Also, the references to FM radio and tape decks, and no mention of the Internet, date this to probably the 1970s or 1980s. And let's face it, a lot of the current 60-70 brigade smoked plenty of grass/joints, listened to lots of rock music, and partied with gay (meaning homosexual) people in the 1960s. (If you can remember it, you weren't there, etc...) I was a bit confused about yogurt too until I realised the spelling. The spelling "yogurt" (as opposed to yoghurt) has only been around since 1928. Nah, this is definitely aimed more at people of my Grandad's generation - he was 60 in 1974, and guess what, he is still going strong and turns 95 later this year. I'll have to show this to him next time I see him! Elvis4ever: I am nowhere near pension age, but I had all of that growing up as a kid in the 80s and early 90s. I had computer games too of course, but bike riding in the woods, making camps, jam sandwiches and jumping in ponds, with no adults to spoil our fun - I had it all. And that was less than 20 years ago. If '00s kids have lost out on all that, yes I do feel sorry for them. If they have, it's clearly because of the paranoia and the 'elf and safety culture created by us adults, not because of computer games.
