THANK YOU! geezes, I'm so TIRED of people blaming the VICTIM! saying stuff like "oh, if she'd only dressed differently!" or "if she hadn't have been out that late or in that area!". I wasn't sexually assaulted (thank God), but I do have 3 friends, maybe more, who have been, and one still thinks she is to blame. People don't ask to be raped, and rape is not a sexual act, it's an act of hatred against the opposite sex, meant to HARM them.

I wasnt going to answer this question, but here I am doing it, I am speaking from experience from my childhood as a victim. No I did not put myself in harms way, if swimming at the pool with lots of other people covers that area. Strangely enough, I dont knock myself about it, cause I am wise enough to realize there was nothing I could do, to prevent 3 attackers, such brave fellows, scum of the earth, but I must admit that it has and probably will leave a dirtly taste in my mouth for the rest of my life. I had the experience if thats what you call it, and shut it away with no one knowing, only me. Thats what it was like back in the 50's, if something like that happened you didnt tell anyone, you were too ashamed or would be blamed for it happening.
I cant believe to think that any woman would deliberately put herself in that position, or at least any sane one.

All I will say is you are right no one deserves rape. I have came within seconds of killing more than one person for their acts of rape. It is a crime that should be punishable by castration. Or the the least have the criminal get raped by someone or something just to show him what it is like. A donkey would be funny. Plus the victim could watch point and laugh.

Honey, noone ever deserves to be sexually molested, much less have their virginity taken away. I totally agree with you and also agree where you are coming from. I am also a victim of child molestation and rape. Of all things it was a coworker of my mom's and not knowing much about him, he was asked to come stay with us until he found a house of his own. I was nine when he started touching me in places he shouldn't, that's right only nine! I was scared out my mind and told my mother about it and he was gone that afternoon. However, she never told my father about what happened and he was allowed to come back and live there, only promising to her that my father would never have to know and that he would never lay another hand on me. Needless to say when I tried warning her not to and telling her something else would happen, she let him come back anyways. No sooner than he came back, he started sexually abusing me again, over and over. He kept on rewarding me with toys to keep me quite. I guess at the age of 11 is when he started to rape me repeatedly. When I turned 14 I decided to turn him in to the authorities, so no it is not your fault, that is why you're the victim. Sure I felt that way to and almost ended up pregnant by him, least that was his plans he said. Listen to me sweetie, it is totally not your fault and no yopu are not to blame, he is and only him. No child just comes up to a guy one day and says, "Hey, I think today I wanna be molested or raped." Noone does that sorta thing!

it's an unexpected thing of course, but women do need to be extremely cautious and I believe that a woman can actually put her self in a vulnerable position for such a thing. Women are made aware year after year, day after day about such occurances of rape and sexual assault and how to defend herself and take precautions. the old expression it's better to be safe than sorry holds up in this case. if the sign says dont swim because of sharks and she goes swimming anyway...she's bound to get bit!! yes a woman can put herself in harm's way...no, she doesnt deserve to get her leg chewed off...will she take precautions next time? by the 'stitches' in her 'psyche' ....yes. yes. yes.

Actually some girls have hidden desires about this.
My wife was raped 7 years ago and she constantly beats her self up about putting her self in that situation.
I cant convince her otherwise.. she almost believes she wanted it subconciously..
She hated it happened, but feels responsible for it.
The only thing ive done to make her feel better is scare the **** out of the guys who did it. Didnt get to teachthem a lesson cause they ran, but hey... its a start...
SMALL TOWN BTW...
I hate she feels responsible for it.....
only thing I can do is be bigger than them in every way.
And not make a issue of it...

I wasn't but my daughter was and it was a person that I truly trusted. It took everything from keeping me from killing him. Thank God she is a mentally healthy and stable young woman as an adult. I really never forgave myself for putting her in that situation. At the time it was a must.

Regardless how a woman chooses to present herself or where she chooses to go she does NOT invite Sexual assault.
The sole responsibility rests with men, again regardless of religion / alcohol or any other feeble excuses he gives for his own inadequacies.
The bottom line is that rape is not about sexual desire but about power & control.
It gauls me to refer to these types as men as it's an insult myself & all other 'normal' men.
