I am agnostic. Most people will get mad at me for this. They say i must believe, or not believe. Why can't I be undecided ? Why should I I be so arrogant to say that yes there is a God, or no there isn't a God ? I can't know for certain, so why do others say they do ? It is not proven that the bible is infallable, i mean there are so many discrepancies in terms of religion we might as well throw most of it away. Athiest there may be things that we believe explain away divinity, but you can never say with 100 percent that there is no god. We may not have ways to test this, but until all mysteries of the universe are explain, there is still wiggle room for divinity. So how can someone claim they know it all ?

i meant to say the bible is falable. that is blaspemy to some, but there are so many translations of the bible, that im sure things were mistranlsated, and the meaning got lost. therefore we cant use the bible as a 100 percent valid source

I also can't be 100% that there isn't a pink dingo in the trunk of my car, but I've got it on really really really really really good authority that there isn't.

The default philosophical stance is skepticism. I'm on solid ground here. My non-belief is justified. However, I don't mind if you've suspended judgment on the matter. It doesn't bother me like it does other people.

Only bigots and arrogants think they know the truth. You can find them in every Faith and among atheists too. You have the right to be undecided and your view should be respected like anybody else's. As an Atheist I'm a seeker, the only certain things I know are those proved by Science, Archaeology and History, my quest is not over yet, and perhaps it'll never be. I know what I know and I believe it, but that doesn't mean I don't respect believers of any Faith, or agnostics, on the contrary I do. Peace.

As a Wiccan I believe in personal truth, not universal truth. You are truthful to yourself and that is all that matters. I don't think it matters if we believe, or not. Each person must decide for themselves what is right for them.

You are undecided, and that is where you are, so don't pay any attention to those who say different. If we could prove beyond all doubt if God was real, that would clear up a lot of things, but we can't. Truth is no one can be 100 percent sure either way.

Look at it this way. You are more honest than most because you admit you aren't sure.

God as a word has no meaning anymore....
i say often people are saying the identical thing in different words....
there is a god and there isnt one can be the same thing,,,,
My suggestion is to have the belief that their is a purpose to life...
this is more important to believe anyway,,,,,
Watch the coincidences in your life...... see if there is occurances beyond probability.....
next, seek love at all costs...... the poets describe this for a reason,,,
date people out of your league, never below you....
let yourself love someone, do not protect yourself......
let it come and do as it will.....
do not be afraid of pain,,,,

you will learn and know more than most of the people on the planet.... about God...

Ah the lovely A word again, arrogance that is. It is not arrogant to wnat to find out how things work, nor is it arrogant having found out to keep that knowledge. I now know thanks to scientists from the past how gravity works, bits of quantum physics, how we all got here through evolution and so on. I also know there are no such things as fairies and that astrology has no basis in fact, in addition I also know there is nothing like the creator god of the bible. Why is it only the last where I am labelled arrogant rather than sane?

I am not mad at you. I do understand why you feel undecided but i will try to explain to you why I believe that there is a one True God.

The bible promises that "you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31, 32)

What is that truth? 'This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.' (John 17:3)

The truth is the knowledge about God and his Son. There are many religions yes, most of us have been confused thats why there are agnostics and atheists but I do believe that God wouldn't let us go unguided...2 Peter 3:9 says Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires ALL to attain to repentance...

Through the bible we come to the knowledge of God, which is available to all, believers and unbelievers...Acts 17:27"... for them to seek God, if they might grope for him and really find him, although, in fact, he is not far off from each one of us."

You can know the truth. It is not being arrogant. The Bible teachs those who seek the truth will find him. Many do not see their need and do not seek some judge God and do not seek some have see their need and have value in the truth and seek him and through this they receive faith and through faith they receive revelation. There is a correct way tos eeking the truth but those who seek it with all of their heart do find it and they do come to know God. Many non-believers assume faith is blind as if believing in Santa Claus or the easter bunny but the truth is through faith comes revelation and God reveals his truth to those who seek him.

So you agree that Science has some "right" to claim the truth. That seems in opposition to your own question.

I'm assuming, then, that the following statements are something you can agree with.

Darwin may not know the truth
Eistein may not know the truth
Linus Paulling may not know the truth
Sir Newton may not know the truth
Stephen Hawking may not know the truth

All these people "claim" to know it, at least for a specific area.

can you be certain that gravity exists?

can you be certain that others percieve as you do?

and I don't think most claim to know it all, but rather know enough of an aspect thats in question, to deduce an answer.

I mean, can you PROVE that gravity exists?

can you prove that red *LOOKS LIKE* red?

SOME people are able to percieve, and have experienced enough at least for themselves, to deduce God existing.

and sometimes even more definitively than the observable effects of gravity proving it to exist. .... just less universally perceivable.
