If you let the cat outside, she will get fleas. There are fleas in your house now. You must continue reapplication as it occurs. Follow dosage instructions. Vote for me!

I would get the cat out of the house and do a flea bomb. you can buy it at any Grocery store or hardware store. I t hink it takes several hours before you can come back in. there may also be some spray but the Dr is right vacumming the house would help alot. If your cat is an outdoor indoor cat then i wouldn't let the cat go out anymore i have had 2 indoor cats now for 5 years and I have never had fleas. There is a treatment you can put on your lawn also to cut down on the fleas outside of course weather permitting depending where you are at. Fleas cannnot survive in a vacumm but the eggs could hatch in there if you happen to vacuum them up I would throw away the vacuum bag after using. Not only should you vacuum the whole house but also t he furniture and bedding your cat sleeps on. Wash blankets pillow cases and ect.... I do know fleas will live in carpets I have a friend that when i visited her She had dogs and if i spent alot of time there i would get bite around the ankles. Apparently they feed and go back to the carpet!!I have not seen flea eggs so i can't tell you how big they are if you go to yahoo and type in flea or eggs and use the image catergory im sure you can get a good look at them there in images. Insect infestation is not a happy thing to have going on and I'm sorry for you. Tackling the issue head on though will get you through it and over it sooner than you think. If you don't let the cat at all you can also carry fleas inside your self from the yard or people can bring them from thier house. I think you a Great pet owner going to the vet. Keep up the good work! =)

The fleas on your cat will drop dead within 6-7 hours after application of frontline. Any flea that lands on her will likewise die. However, since the vet used a spray and not the ointment, the effect may not last as long as 30 days... but since the vet did not give you a prescription for a re-application, the spray may be good for a whole month.

In the meantime, treat the cat's environment for fleas.
1) Wash all cat beddings in warm laundry soap
2) vaccumm vacuum, vacuum, vacuum - you cannot see flea eggs - they will be among the dust particales on the carpet, floors, cat beddings. Regular vacuuming (every day) goes a long way in getting rid of fleas in the house. Put some flea powder or baking soda inside the vacuum cleaner bag - that kills flea larvae. And throw away (outside) used vacuum bags. Oh - the vibration of the vacuum cleaner will encourage flea eggs to hatch... so you need to vacuum everyday.
3) Treat cracks in walls and furniture with anti-flea spray that you can pick up from any pet store.

Eventually, if the cat does not pick up anymore fleas from outside, you'll have a flea-free home.

Frontline spray will kill the fleas that it comes into contact with. A more effective method of flea control is the fluid you put on the cats neck, that is safe for the cat and will kill the fleas as they bite the animal. Get this from the vet. I don't recommend trying the stuff you can buy in the supermarket. You could also consider a flea collar though I have never found them very effective. They kill the fleas as they make their way towards the cats eyes in search of water.

The eggs are not laid on the animal but in the bedding. There are some very effective sprays that can be used on animal bedding (though not on human bedding) Ask your vet about it. They will also prevent any of the hatched eggs from developing into mature fleas. Frequent vacuuming is also very helpful if you have carpet. Put a flea collar in your vacuum cleaner bag to kill any that get sucked up.

Fleas are a constant pest when you have pets to make the preventative measures part of your routine.

the frontline works by absorbing in the body and it comes out with the body oil through the pores and kills the fleas and eggs
you will not see the eggs just clean house as normal and trust the frontline will do its job if there are fleas left in the home they will automaticlly get on the cat and the frontline will take care of them I have used frontline for a long time it is great I apply it monthly in summer and every 3 months for winters

The eggs are in your carpet, upholstery, bedding, and anywhere else the cat has been. When I had to deal with this (after leasing an apartment that had not had its carpet properly cleaned after the last occupant), I went to the store and got flea bombs that I set off in each room, as well as spray for the carpets and upholstery. Be sure to get the kind that kills adults AND eggs - otherwise, you'll be doing it all over again in three weeks after the eggs hatch.

Another option for debugging your home is a spray called Home Defense. It is the same odorless spray used by exterminators. Follow package directions and fleas, spiders, etc will go. Lots cheaper than a pro. Steam cleaning carpets and consistent use of Frontline is also good.

it doesn't matter how big your house is --you need to vacuum it completely! unless you want to keep the flea infestation.
they tend to be wherever the cat sleeps, in the corners and edges of the wall/floor also under and on furniture. Also, before you vacuum you should be spraying with a flea kill spray (like Raid --make sure it's for fleas though)
GOOD LUCK!!

the eggs look like little black dots about the size of a period......<----...frontline has always worked really well for my family...she will be flea and tick free...i would reccomend waiting a little bit before letting her in the bed with you just to be safe...fleas will hide in the carpet and such so you should definately make sure to get it all vacuumed. your cat has frontline on/in her, but you dont!
