I used to have TSPV status, but I'm wondering if a CRB check would flag up only convictions not arrests (and binding overs)?

TSPV = top secret positive vetting (it flags up everything)

The CRB should only flag up arrests for most offences as you will not have a criminal record unless convicted. But for certain offences involving violence or children a CRB should give some information. I know this as I used to work for the Local Government in Schools HR. If you are really concerned I would contact the Criminal Records Bureaus and ask them.

What do you need the CRB for?

Hello,

ANS:- In my opinion a CRB check would flag up any details even such as minor ones like traffic offences, or police checks, court orders, police warnings, binding overs, non payment of fines, etc.

*Apart from the more obvious ones like arrest, actual convictions, sentences served when & why, how long ago and if the offence is still standing on a file or if its nulled.

*Remember alot if not ALL the data checked against in a CRB check comes from the PNC (police national computer).

i think it depends what is being checked for? for example if you worked in care they would be looking for convictions/warnings relating to vulnerable people. A full CRB is quite in depth tho and may show up alot including convictions/warnings.
I think its the Ian Huntley thing? thats made them be more thorough (rightly so) if this is for a potentiol job i would be honest from the start they are far more likely to look on you favourably for it than finding out from CRB.
Sorry i have no idea what TSPV status is! hope this helps!

I know it brings up minor incidents such as speeding tickets, even if they are many years old; as some of my collegues found out, so im guessing it may bring up official cautions or binding overs, i suppose arrests would only show if you were actually charged. only guessing though.
