Marijuana should be outright legalized. The Government has been lying to us since it was put on the drug schedule. If marijuana has no medical use then why are there at least 2 synthetic cannabinoids on the market?
It is clearly not physically addictive and when ingested properly, with a vaporizer or eating, has shown no long term negative effects on health. This is true even after long term use of marijuana.
There are many sites out there on this subject.
The US has more than 7 million citizens in the criminal justice system. Nearly half of these are non violent drug offenders.
Since when did the medical plan for treatment of drug use include incarceration? When did the AMA sign off on that?
Unfortunately our government simply refuses to acknowledge the existence of any evidence that directly controverts their position.
How stupid is it to be required to buy a pill that gives a set dose, at $100 each, instead of putting some seeds out in your back yard, rolling some up and stopping when you get to your comfort zone?
Our government is broken and has not represented the needs or the best interest of it's citizenry for many years now. All of our "representatives" have sold out their legislative power to the corporations.
They no longer pass laws in the best interest of the average citizen, but instead craft legislation that directly benefits the corporate interest that is pushing the bill.
This is not a partisan issue. They all participate in this system of corruption. They all must be voted out of office. Maybe when they believe that our interests will be protected above all others or they will be looking for work elsewhere.
Vote all incumbents out of office starting in 2008.
Take back our country from the corporations.

. I think it should be legalized.. I,m 66 years old and if it would take away my pain from arthritis I would be glad for the relief. I've heard that it doesn't take away the pain, it just helps you forget it for a while. I would probably be pain free for a while. It has been a long time since I have felt any relief at all. Wish we could vote on that issue instead, it would most likely pass!

Medical marijuana is an expression originating in the North America and refers to the use of Cannabis sativa (hemp) as a therapeutic prescription drug, most notably as an antiemetic.

I think recreational marijuana should be legal everywhere
its no more harmful then smoking (the smoke of one joint is equal to something around 7 cigarettes, seeing some smoke 25 cigarettes a day, one joint is even less harmful for your lungs) and doesnt have the negative effects of alcohol (making you mellow and peaceful, as opposed to some who drink and get loud and violent)
some people say 'people shouldnt smoke marijuana' and drive, but from my experience (as almost all my friends are druggies :D) people who smoke weed and drive drive slower and more carefully because theyre all paranoid, though people who drink and drive like to see if they can get their car going over 200

I agree; it seems very silly to keep people in pain from using something that helps them and does no harm. Of course, I think that marijuana should be legal, period. People smoke it anyway, so it might as well be regulated and taxed.

If it doesn't cause any harm and is regulated, why not.
The problem is with abuse and if it becomes so easily
accessible then the argument can be made that more
people will get addicted to it.
