As I see it, the big problem is that an intelligent person is more likely to look at the impact of too many people in the world, and make the choice to have fewer childredn, or none at all. Someone with less intelligence is less likely to consider such things and breed more children, either deliberately or by accident. People lacking knowledge and access to contraception are more likely to have unwanted children.
The overall effect is to lower the average human intelligence across the board. Worse, more chilren are born into poverty than not.
Just an observation. I don't claim to have any answers.

Reproduction is the basic right of all humans. I don't think it is fair to the children to say that parents should not reproduce, if that be the case then I nor my nephews would probably be in this world. Education is what encourages healthy and "normal" children. I think if society was honest with people, they would create educational and economic outlets for people to have healthier children...
and granted, not all unhealthy children are those of economic disparity, but life is a little easier when you can hire a paid professional to listen to your problems with your parents and society. Either way, everyone has a right to life, I don't think the answer is to not reproduce, but rather to educate.

I believe some of the greatest people in this world were a product of lazy parents.

I think the problem is bigger than that plus many people become pregnant not by choice. Since the world is becoming overpopulated and cannot support us, I think everyone should think about how many children they have.

According to some belief systems, we choose our parents anyway. Perhaps bad karma from previous lives will garner us "Bad" parents.
Irresponsible people will still get drunk, have sex, and unfortunate may be the kids.

In my opinion, a child is worth the work they require. However, if you are not willing to do the work, then PLEASE do not have a child.
