Don't worry. Millions in the world are affected by this disease called Autism. It is this disease that makes people take long time to look at people to talk. This type of people can never adapt to social life. But if you are less affected, then you have a chance to adapt to the social life. It will take years to be a normal person.

Maybe you just dont want it bad enough....they say if something is worth having, it usually takes both Work and Preserverance.
If someone is FAT, and they go work out in the gym every day for three days straight, and dont see much of a difference, to they quit right then and there? Or do they really want to loose that weight bad enough to keep working at it. How bad to you want to improve your social skills? It wont happen by itself, you must make an effort. Make an effort to research the things that you question or confuse you, and keep practicing. Just like a Magician trying to learn a new magic trick, each time he does it he gets better, and better. He is not considered an expert the moment he takes the trick out of the package.... he has to practice many hours first. You can do anything you want if you set YOUR MIND....then dont take no for an answer!

you look them in the eye all the time, yeah sometimes it feels awkward cos you feel exposed, but that cos deep down inside you dont like the person...with people you know well and like and respect you can look at them all the time and it doesnt feel anything other than normal. Body language is easy to learn...their are books on it....hey look on the bright side..you have identified the problem and are now sharing it with others...you are communicating. Go to your drs...they might advise a theoropist...nothing to be ashames of...they will help you and before you know it you will look back at all this and think how silly. Its not the end...its a beginning!

You need to find a good social worker, counselor, or a good support group that has others like you. Usually, mental health clinics have applications that you fill out for free help. You do not have to tell anything about your financial situation, just fill out the form and you can get help. You need to build your self-esteem. You could have a chemical imbalance. Once that is under control, you will not believe how great you feel. You must take the meds so you will get better and stay better.

There's a trick which actors and politicians use to avoid eye contact, while still maintaining a semblance of it - focus on the person's eyebrows - it gives the impression that you are looking directly at them but you can still maintain your comfort zone. Use this trick as a starter to build your self confidence - ask lots of questions and deflect questions to you that you are not comfortable with - people love to talk about themselves, so get them talking and they will think you are the most fascinating, funny person in any room!

My Question Is:

How long have you not seen people interacting?

SIMPLE EXERCISE

You need to see how people interact in the first place. To do so, walk around in places like shopping complex etc. See, look and feel how sales people (for example) talk to their customers.

UNTIL YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE,

Approach a sales person to talk to. Ask something you want to buy a shirt or tie.

That is slowly how you learn to interact with people.

The reason: Good salespeople are one of the best people you can learn how interact.
