I have a 3 year old female black lab/ chocolate lab mix. She's not fixed but we dont take her on walks or any where where she can interact with male dogs. She usually goes into heat once every month (like many females!) but she hasnt gone into heat for slightly over 2 months. Whats wrong with my furry baby girl?!?!

Hmm, what's wrong indeed. Most female dogs only go into heat once every 6 months. I would be more concerned about her going into heat once a month. You might want to think about getting her fixed.

she's probably preggers. dogs can get pregnant in their own backyard and not just out on the streets. a male dog can smell a female in heat for miles. and they can even be bred through a fene. but also dogs usually only go into heat 1-2 times a year. so bleeding every month is not normal, it might be for her but not for dogs in general. humans cycle every month, but that does not mean every female mammal does. she might have an infection. you need to take her to the vet and have her checked and then schedule to have her spayed. even if she's never bred not spaying her will increase the chance of cancers such as mammary tumors, and pyometria which is where the uterus fills with pus. be responsible and have her spayed.

The vet is erroneous, in the beginning, and you're lining your self up for a great number of difficulty waiting that long. Get her spayed earlier she ever has her first warmth and shop risking well being issues. a commonplace warmth would be based on breed. 10 months is probable the customary, would be as early as 6 months or as previous due as 14 or sixteen months. stable success classic Collies

Why don't you get her fixed. There is something wrong with her if she goes into heat that often. There are many health benefits to spaying. If you love her you would spay her to give her a healthier and longer life. Take her to the vet to make sure everything is fine with her. Set up a spay appointment. Accidents happen!

You've been misinformed about how often dogs go into heat. Dogs go into heat every six months or twice a year.

Dogs normally go into heat every 6 months. If she normally does it every month, she needs to be spayed for her health.

Get her neutered. She's obviously got something very wrong with her hormones if she's coming into season once a month.
