They are worms, Number one I would call the shelter and see if they can give you the meds. If not take them to the vet. Most vets will only charge you one office visit for the 2 puppies. they need to get there shots anyways. It takes a few treatments to get rid of them. My puppy had to have the meds once a month for 3 months. they get them from fleas and from there mother though her milk if she was infected. The pills are not expensive. And just because you got them at a shelter does not mean your going to have huge vet bills if that was the case no one would go there. Everyone who has puppys has to worm them and get there shots. Even breeders have to have this done before they can sell a puppy. Good luck to you

They have worms and will need to be treated by a vet. They get worms from flea and tick bites, so it is competely understandable that they have this problem. Let the vet know and they will put the pups on some meds and then you will have to give them a once a month treatment to keep them from getting worms in the future. Also, don't let them go near any of the places where they have pooed in the past until they are on treatment for a couple of months. The worms can get into the soil and then reinfect the dog. Just because you picked up the poo and disposed of it does not mean that the worms are gone.

Hi Kelvin!!
Don't panic ...The round worm that you found are basically Zoonotic that simply mean that they can both infect human and dog. The most urgent thing to do now is to deworm your puppy ASAP to get rid all the worm in the system or else the poor puppy may die soon. Until you are a little more experienced, deworming medication should be prescribed by a vet ... there are specific dosages depending on age and weight .
If you are worry that the worm may also get into your system, deworm yourself also .

Worms are easily treated by the vet, just get a sample of the poo to take in with you. Sooner is better than later.

That is a worm. Alot of animale and people have it but dont even know it. I dont know if you watch animale planet but they can grow up to 36 feet. You wont know if anyone has it until the worm wants to leave and then it comes out when you poop. I would take him in and make sure it is all gone. If you can, Try to take the worm into the doctors also and show them what it was.

puppy has worms.. it is very common for pups to have wormsbut they do need to be treated.. call the vet and have them give you a dewormer... there is some you can buy from like walmart and petco, but these pups sound like they have had enough trouble, you want the worms gone.

Take the li'l doggies to the vet for treatment. While you're there, look into an insurance plan for them, especially if they are a breed susceptible to certain things that may require surgery in the future such as hip dysplasia. it can get really expensive for two or more pets. Look into it online as well; many plans are quite affordable. Find out which ones your vet accepts.

When you save your pet from being killed by getting him/her from the shelter, you can count on having a big vet. bill, You need to get the poor things to the vet. It is not a bad idea to make an appointment as soon as you know your adoption has been granted. My dog had many health problems but it was worth every penny for that vet. bill. Save pets, go to the shelter.
