I'm sorry to hear that you had an accident. I know how scary that can be. To answer your question:
My car went off a cliff, dropped about 120 feet, and rolled several times. It came to rest upside down and demolished. I was wearing a seat belt but my face was crushed by the ceiling of the car as it crumpled in. I ended up with my head pinned between the ceiling and the headrest, so my body was twisted throughout the car's rolls. The side of my head was crushed, and my nose, cheekbone, orbit (eye socket), and ribs were broken. I was also cut by my own glasses, across the face beneath the damaged eye. It took a long time for people to find me and get down to the car to get me out of it. When they put me into the ambulace, I was strapped to on my back to a board. I started to drown in blood and felt myself slipping away, but couldn't move or speak. By the time they figured out what was going on and aspirated my lungs, I was gone.
I didn't feel anything, I was just there, then nothing, then there.
Several reconstructive surgeries later, I am as fine as I'll ever be, and glad to be alive.
That's the closest I've ever come to dying. I've been in three other accidents (not driving), been strangled, and been slashed with a knife, but I never felt that sense of "leaving" except with that one accident.

I was on a Coach type bus (the kind that is for highway travel)that got hit by a semi-truck. 6 people died, many more were injured.
I was in the hospital for 5 weeks. There was 6 plates put into my face to hold it together until it healed. I lost all of my upper teeth. I lost my sense of smell as a result of the nerve/brain damage from the concussion. I had a lot of damages to my left shoulder. My left knee was damaged. I had broken ribs, a ruptured spleen, tears to my lungs and more. I have not returned to work yet after more than a year and eight months. I was a construction worker. I will be unable to do that kind of work anymore.
Why am I still alive? Just lucky I guess.
You should drive more carefully. Turn the cell phone off, ease up on the gas, leave a bit earlier and all that stuff.

Today you are living just because GOD wants you to. I am not at all religious but I trust the power of GOD.
I would relate you an incident of mine.
I was 17 then. I went for a regular check up to the doc with slight pains in my thigh. He happened to ask me to go for an X-Ray. Luckily or unluckyly he found some irregularity. He advised me to consult a senior doc.
I got kinda confused and obliged to his advice. The senior doc advised me an MRI scan and the next moment I was admitted to the hospital with operation due next day.
It was a huge tunour below my pelvic bone at a dangerous stage with the chance of bursting within few days. A day late it could have been adverse.
I was bed ridden for 1 month in hospital and yet another 1 in home. They had to cut off my pelvic bone and support my tissues with a mesh.
What if I would not have cared?? What if I would have delayed a few more days??
Today I am perfectly all right at 21. I wrote my exams well during that time. i got good grades too.
It's all destiny. GOD has sent us to do some work until we finish it. There are no chance of going back.
So just keep on doing ur work brave man.!!
God will always be favourable to you.

i replaced into in an exceptionally undesirable single motor vehicle accident(my fault fullyyt). I went at approximately 100mph around an exceptionally sharp downhill curve in the country, hit a airborne dirt and dirt wall on the surprising facet of the line, then hit a culvert on the comparable facet(a culvert is a form of concrete tubes that make greater suitable ditches decrease than driveways). That positioned the vehicle ten or so ft into the air(sideways). I then hit a tree whilst nevertheless in the air, skidded approximately 30ft on the drivers facet of the vehicle in the airborne dirt and dirt, and ultimately stopped. I broke my left clavicle(collarbone) on the door(my shoulder easily bent the door out approximately 4in earlier it gave), and my terrific pal in the passenger seat hit his head on the windshield, have been given a comfortable concussion. That day scared the residing crap out of me... and that i nevertheless omit that undesirable motor vehicle...

I had heat stroke when I was 17 years old and I almost died. I was in the middle of nowhere and they were worried that I wouldn't get to the hospital in time. I was unconscious until the next day, and all I remember about it was that it felt like I was travelling really fast underwater, as if in a dive, and it felt very cool and soothing.

Car accident, 2004.
Some guy hit us on the driver's side, perpendicularly.
If I had touched the brakes slightly, he would have hit me head on. Luckily, he hit just behind the driver's seat. He barely missed me. I got a good case of whiplash, and couldn't turn my head for a couple days.

here are some things that happened in just over 20 yrs to me;
several times i almost got run over by speeding drivers.
almost stepped on a cobra when i was 9.
went flying between the front seats and into the windscreen when i was 5 and the driver braked suddenly at 170kmph.
almost got shot by a robber with revolver in front of my house.
a 2 foot propane tank caught fire and it was barely put out before it blew.
almost fell off a cliff while staring at sea eagles while drowsy.
almost got gored by a bull
almost drowned as a kid when my life jacket came off and i just sank.
almost drowned again when i tried to stand in diving fins and fell back and knocked my head on a piece of coral and just waited under the water staring up unable to move for almost a minute.
a kilo or carbite blew up in my face.
almost got electrocuted trying to change fuses on a wet pump whose wires i couldn't figure out how to disconnect.
the express train i was on derailed on 3 compartments, i was in the middle one that came off and almost filpped over, and had to climb out the window.
still alive in one piece and no major surgery required.
