I believe it is true in general. You could pick a single weapons system that some other country might have a better version of, but in general, the USA has the est stuff. Plus we spend more on defense than the rest of the world combined

with out any shadow of a doubt, the U. S. militia is the main technologically greater militia in the worldwide. together as there are person weapons structures interior of different worldwide places which would be extra greater (the British Thor as an occasion) then the U. S. equivalent there's no different u . s . in the worldwide that so thoroughly is composed of intense tech into the provider as an entire. Likewise, our training innovations and thoughts make a bigger use of technologies then all people else i will think of of. Heck, the U. S. military has their very own video sport for God's sake! the only problem is that the U. S. militia has a tendency to place extra attempt and funds into coming up the huge flashy toys. We spend billions of dollars coming up new tanks, ships and stealth bombers together as nonetheless utilising a rifle that grew to become into designed in the 50's. it incredibly is obscene how the Pentagon has constantly shorted the Land Warrior gadget in desire of quicker tanks, stealthier jets, and larger helicopters whilst each and every militia theorist in the well known worldwide all agree that the main severe key to fulfillment on the battlefield is the guy on the floor with the rifle.

Yes although there are notable exceptions, such as the M-16 style assault rifle, not the greatest in the world (would prefer the French FAMAS, or a German H&K.) But tradition (i.e. big corporate contracts) and cost-vs-gain keeps it in service.

The US spent an estimated $507 billion in military spending in 2003 according to the CIA World Factbook. The budget for 2007 is $462.7 Billion, but will undoubtably go over budget, the budget fo 2003 was only $396.1 Billion, over-budget by over $100 billion.
We currently spend 48% of the entire World total for military spending.
And this is only the amounts which are disclosed, I would bet my life that there are billions of dollars in "undisclosed" or "classified" projects which receive secret funding, or have their funds diverted through another government agency.

Look at the F-22 Raptor, there is no need for a fighter jet that advanced. No nation in the world has an Air Force that can threaten ours, or would be stupid/crazy enough to want to and try. But the military plans many years ahead so that systems will be distributed, understood by the troops and personnel, and (hopefully) glitch free by the time their need arises.
The Department of Defense is already working on systems and platforms for a hypothetical war with China, and the eventual move of the Air Force and Marine Corps into space.

Absolutely true, but it is usually run by an under-educated disenfrachised sectors of Americas population.

Americas military is usually populated by ****** and hispanics with whitey usually comprising the majority of the officer class. That is because the ****** and hispanics come from neihbourhoods with little option but to join the military or a street gang.

You can have all the technollogy known to man but in Americas case when it fights an ingenious non technical enemy like the viet kong , the korean human wave , the afgani cave dweller or the iraqi guerilla insurgent , technollogy amounts to nothing which is why the Yanks get their asseees kicked.

In a set piece on field battle America would be unbeatable, every where else she is fair game.

I don't think so personally. You can read a lot about new weapon technology across the world. There are weapons that may soon not be dependent on bullets what so ever, but instead send a type of artificial electricity that has about the same accuracy and distance. One shot can knock out forty guys if they were standing close enough to feel the leap.

There are sites that show these new technologies. Just Google weapons of the future or something.

Yes, there are other countries that have really advance systems like England, Italy and Germany. But none in the grand scale of the U.S. Not to mention we spend the most money in millitary defense and technology than any other country.

IThe U.S. is the most powerful in technically advanced weapons. However terrorism is a greater threat. Thumb's up for all the great people who serve in the military forces.

Yes, the US has the most advance technology, but technology doesn't win wars. All wars throughout history have been one by the side with the best equipped and motivated footsoldiers AND they were willing to see massive numbers of their own troops die.

Technology can cause great damage, but it takes feet on the ground to control and conquer. Real technological warfare began in World War II, but in every instance in the last 60 years, it took massive numbers of troops 'in situ' to control the ground. Every time one side tried to win with technology and avoid losing soldiers, they lost the war: the Soviets in Afghanistan, the US in Vietnam, the US in Iraq, etc.

There is only one way to win by technology: commit total genocide on those you are attacking, whether by chemical, biological, nuclear or other weaponry. Unless one side is willing to commit some of the worst atrocities in human history (and risk facing a war crimes tribunal), winning by technology will never happen.

Yes, by far, however, the war we are fighting right now, all the technology isnt enough. If we were allowed to use it to its fullest capability, there would be no doubt just how powerful this army is, but we arent fighting an army, we are fighting terrorism, we need more than technology.

Stands to reason, since the US government spends something like $25 000 per second on it`s military.
