How far along are you? If you are not more than a couple of months along and you stop smoking pot, then any damage that has occurred will probably be reversed. The human body is amazing, so if you start taking awesome care of yourself now, then your baby should be fine.
I understand that the pot keeps you straight, however, if you are pregnant, then now your baby needs to keep you straight. So, just think about that sweet little baby and how he or she is going to feel in your arms and how much you are going to love him or her and let that feeling help you fight your urge to do drugs.
Good luck!

Well before you freak out, find out for sure if you're pregnant or not. Whether or not the baby is harmed would depend a lot on how far along you are, if you ARE pregnant. A friend of mine smoked pot (and took a lot of narcotic pain killers) during her first trimester because she didn't know she was pregnant. The baby was born perfectly fine and she is still normal and healthy. First thing in the morning you should go get a pregnancy test so you can find out for sure, then quit smoking weed, which will suck, but just focus on the baby to keep you straight instead of the green stuff.

Well I am not sure if this will get read or not, but I had a friend who smoked weed while she was pregnant. She was honest with her doctor, her DR. Told her that he did not approve of it, but that as long as she cut back( if possible)..That the baby would be fine. I dont think there have been any studies that have proven MaryJane to be harmful.. The only thing it would affect would be the lungs. I mean harmful as in the development in the child while you are pregnant. I am not Doctor so, I will advise that if you are you explain your situation to your doctor, because they do drug test these days. Good Luck..I wish you all the best.

Most, if not all of the people I used to know that used heroin are now dead, in fact I can think of about 7 or 8 off hand that are now dead. It's one of the few substances that I have never or never will form a habit for, In the words of the great Welsh artist Neil Young " I've seen the needle and the damage done "

First of all do a pregnancy test.
I understand your problems, the positive thing is that your smack addiction does not seam to have changed your brain physiology, if it had hydro would not have helped you. So you absolutely have a good shot of giving it up all together!
Have you tried extreme sports, like sky diving, MTB-downhill, adventure racing etc. To get you calm? Some addicts gets help from this as the actual underlying reason for the addiction has to do with the serotonin system. And when doing extreme (sometimes dangerous) activities you will achive a adrenaline bost, which can help you.

My cousin used to smoke weed all the time when she was pregnant, not saying it's the best thing to do, and everyone is different but her baby was ok, but as he grew up he was a little spacey acting...( no pun intended and I'm not laughing ) but like I said everyone is different and there are a lot of risks, but in my honest opinion that's a lot better than heroine, I think that would cause a heck of a lot more damage than the hydro.... good luck

You did not state in your question if you are involved with a support group. If you are,you should have a sponsor.I would be calling them if I were you and get them into your life.Kicking drugs is not easy and almost any emotional upheaval in your life could cause you to fall and want to get high again. If you aren't with any program, get with one now.The friendship of people who really care about you and know what your going thru make allot of difference whether or not your miserable in your being straight.Good luck and God Bless.BTW: Give up smoking that crap, you don't need it.If your strong enough to give up H,you don't need any weed.Think of the little person that is growing inside you........................

Do not be scared or afraid. The learning point is:
Substance abuse can occur with or without dependency, and with or without addiction. Substance abuse is any use of a substance, which causes more harm than good.
In some cases, whether a substance causes more harm than good, or more good than harm, may be a matter of opinion rather than a matter of fact.
The phenomenon of drug addiction has occurred to some degree throughout recorded history. Though modern agricultural practices, improvements in access to drugs, advancements in biochemistry, and dramatic increases in the recommendation of drug usage by clinical practitioners have exacerbated the problem significantly in the 20th century. Improved means of active biological agent manufacture and the introduction of synthetic compounds, such as methamphetamine are also factors contributing to drug addiction.
The addictive nature of drugs varies from substance to substance, and from individual to individual. Drugs such as marijuana or alcohol, for instance, typically require many more exposures to addict their users than drugs such as heroin or cocaine. Likewise, a person who is psychologically or genetically predisposed to addiction is much more likely to suffer from it.
Drug addiction has two components: physical dependency, and psychological dependency. Physical dependency occurs when a drug has been used habitually and the body has become accustomed to its effects. The person must then continue to use the drug in order to feel normal, or its absence will trigger the symptoms of withdrawal. Psychological dependency occurs when a drug has been used habitually and the mind has become emotionally reliant on its effects, either to elicit pleasure or relieve pain, and does not feel capable of functioning without it. Its absence produces intense cravings, which are often brought on or magnified by stress. A dependent person may have either aspects of dependency, but often has both.
"Chipping" is also a term used to describe a pattern of drug use in which the user is not physically dependent and sustains 'controlled use' of a drug. This is done by avoiding influences that reinforce dependence, such that the drug is used for relaxation and not for escape.
Religion helps if you believe in it. I suppose you have one in mind?
In most addiction cases I came across, it is the belief of religion that helps to bring a person back to his or her mind. This is the experience I can share with you.
Sometimes if you do good to others, it will reflect to you (Buddha's teaching). It will be great benefits if you can quit and impart your experience to help future people like you too.
