"Early Wicca was dominated by female feminists" Wow thanks Timothy S. I learned something as this verifies the "Practice witchcraft" portion of this statement which I really wasn't sure of. By the way I'm not a fan of the person who made the statement. I also feel certain "Kill their children" refers to abortion being a "woman's right".

feminism in so many ways went overboard. but that's just like everything else. when you loosen the break, everything will follow. it's like a domino effect.

There's a big difference between second wave feminism, which is all about equal rights, and third wave feminism, which is all about hating men.

I support equal rights, and I am not a lesbian. I also have no intention of leaving my husband once I'm married, and I would NEVER kill my children. I think capitalism is fine if there are government safeguards in place, and I don't care one way or the other about witchcraft as long as it's not intended to harm anyone.

I don't know who made that statement, but whoever did needs to go back to college and learn some elocution and some logic.

I think this was Pat Robertson, the Bigot.

I think feminism has good foundations, but goes too far in some respects. Fighting for equal rights is one thing, proclaiming superiority is another.

I would agree that it encourages them to leave their husbands, in some situations, but this is rare. I would agree becuase it promotes independence from men, which would be ultimately manifested in leaving your husband in some interpretations.

I don't think it promotes infanticide. Thats makes no sense.

Witchcraft? I know some feminist self-proclaimed witches, but I don't think the movement itself and witchcraft have any connection.

As for capitalism, if feminism destroys capitalism, all the more power to it. I havn't seen capitalism do anything good for this world. I find it interesting that a Evangelical supports capitalism ,a system that results in an increasing gap between rich and poor, when Jesus (pbuh) preached against oppressing the poor.

Lesbians, I have seen that happen, but usually women become feminists after they become lesbian. I don't think theres too much of a connection there.

1. I don't agree
2. Pat Robertson said that, the same guy who suggested that the United States "take out" Huge Chavez
3. It's all false.

A. NOW fully supports women who choose to leave a broken marriage. NOW doesn't suggest to any woman that she do so.

B. NOW is so far from suggesting that women kill their children, it has been a leading light in helping women *keep* their children

C. Most of the people who practice witchcraft don't come to it through feminism.

This is just another example of Robertson's blathering.

Pat has a tendency to try to put things into scare-tactic mode in order to rile up the base against anything HE thinks is wrong.

Here's another bit of Pat, first saying a most outrageous thing, then lying about it:

Only Christians and Jews in Government

"Individual Christians are the only ones really -- and Jewish people, those who trust God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- are the only ones that are qualified to have the reign, because hopefully, they will be governed by God and submit to Him."
-- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club television program, January 11, 1985, defending his stance that only Christians and Jews are fit to hold public office

"I never said that in my life ... I never said only Christians and Jews. I never said that."
-- Pat Robertson, Time magazine, after having been confronted regarding his statement on The 700 Club of January 11, 1985

AND THEN confirming what he lied about saying:

"When I said during my presidential bid that I would only bring Christians and Jews into the government, I hit a firestorm. "What do you mean?" the media challenged me. "You're not going to bring atheists into the government? How dare you maintain that those who believe in the Judeo-Christian values are better qualified to govern America than Hindus and Muslims?" My simple answer is, "Yes, they are."
-- Pat Robertson, The New World Order, p. 218

And here he is, practicing Christ's love and charity:

"You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense. I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist. I can love the people who hold false opinions but I don't have to be nice to them."
-- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club television program, January 14, 1991

And my favorite Pat Robertson quote of all time, in which he reveals how far he'll go in lying about history, and suggesting a pogrom:

Proposed 'Godly Fumigation' of Non-Christians

"It is interesting, that termites don't build things, and the great builders of our nation almost to a man have been Christians, because Christians have the desire to build something. He is motivated by love of man and God, so he builds. The people who have come into [our] institutions [today] are primarily termites. They are into destroying institutions that have been built by Christians, whether it is universities, governments, our own traditions, that we have.... The termites are in charge now, and that is not the way it ought to be, and the time has arrived for a godly fumigation."
-- Pat Robertson, New York Magazine, August 18, 1986

1) Feminism doesnt promote Witchcraft, but the religion of Wicca is very liberating for women because they have an equal place. I see nothing wrong with that.

2) I believe it was Jerry Falwell.

3) Like I said, Wicca is a liberating religion for women, but it is in no way affiliated with secular feminist movements. As for killing their children and leaving their husbands, that's ridiculous.

Lol. I'm a wiccan does that mean I'm Gay? Nope I'm Married and proud to say I'm 42 and have been married 24 years. This the type of crap that stereotypes people. Maybe more Gay people find wicca because they are accepted and not judged. BTW Traditional witchcraft and Wicca are completely different things. Early Wicca was dominated by female feminists ( I owe a great deal of appreciation for their hard work) but today it has become as family oriented as any Christian church.

I don't know about the witchcraft, but in the last 30 years, the rates of mothers killing their children has gone way up. They now account for 55% of fatal child abuse committed by anyone, according to the U.S. Justice Dept. study Murder in Families. Fathers account for 8%, stepmothers for 9%,and stepfathers for 10%. Back in 1977, N.O.W. was extremely worried about the lesbian movement taking over the organization, according to one of its founding board members, Warren Farrell, PhD.

it may have done a lot of good for women's rights but now it has mjutated into something else. an evil fifth column in america far better organized and funded than the klan or the black panthers. my daughter is deeply involved. i never said anything bad but she wont communicatge with me. i am 64 and have heart trouble. i may never see her again and she has jsut cut me off. further more, she has turned my son against me. they are grown and doing well but i am cut off. their mother graduated from vassar and she turned out to be a feminist and i did know it until we had been together about five years. turned out we agreed on nothing,. but she told me she just wanted a couple of children iand i was there on the spot. life sucks and i am not fond of the feminsist movement any more. not anymore.

1. Don't agree
2. Pat Robertson
3. Every part of the statement is false. Feminism ecourages women to value themselves, not to devalue the rest of society. Looks like an inflammatory statement designed to strike as many nerves as possible.

To promote a woman to bear rule, superiority, dominion, or empire above any realm, nation, or city, is repugnant to nature; contumely to God, a thing most contrary to his revealed will and approved ordinance; and finally, it is the subversion of good order, of all equity and justice."
John Knox, 1558
