what exactly is an enhanced disclosure. Everytime I apply for a job I am told that I will be required to provide an enhanced disclosure.

Could someone please tell me what this is?

An enhanced discloursure is wait for it...
A criminal record check. Making sure you are who you are and have not been in trouble with the police. Usualy the company pay for the search failing this you pay and more often than not the company will reimburse.
What the company wants from you is that they are not employing anyone from shall we say the sex offenders register and who may be working with the general public (ie) schools
I hope this information may prove usefull ..

i hope this helps an enhanced disclosure is a form that is filled out by you about you it is then given to your prospective employer who will send it away to have it checked by the crb who will check to see if you have a crimanal record and if so what offences you have commited it is basically to check that you are able to work with the public without posing any threat of danger to both yourself and them it costs around £25 to have done usually the costs will be covered by the employer if you are being asked for one then the employer should provide you with the form . i hope this helps

I think it means you have to declare everything about yourself... Just like how hotels would screen (usually for crimes, records etc) staff before employing them....This must be a new HR term.
