Someone posted a similar question. I think it's quite funny how different people think. Why do people need to confuse themselves with one word?.......Some think that going out on a date with someone means, you are bf and gf. Isn't 'a date' a trial to see if you are compatible with a person? That's why you call it 'date' and not 'relationship'? So if it doesn't work out, you can continue dating other people till you find the right person, right? So what's this 'exclusive' or 'not exclusive'? (It's just a new word for making things clear to avoid misunderstandings coz people aren't sure what 'a date or dates' means) It's hilarious! Don't you think?

I must say there is much substance to your question. I had four "dates" in three nights, it was just dinner/cofee full stop. LIke you mentioned you go on adate to get to know a person and not to be ina relationship. One of my four dates didn't understand that our date meant it was a date and not a relationship. I had to tell him that i would be seeing other men because we were not in a relationship. In the end he never really understood what i was trying to say and I had to end the possible freindship, sad isn't it. About the Exclusive and not exclusive issue, I think a lot of teens might use those phrases. So good for you to think out of the box and for your mature minded sense of reality! Thumbs up to you!

That's one of the reasons why dating confuses me sometimes. I thought that dating WAS a realationship and friendship was like the trial to see if you're compatible.

I don't want to have sex until I'm married and I read on another post that exclusive means you're dating them AND having sex with them. In that case, I'll never be "exclusive" but I may have a "relationship"...

This whole thing would, probably, be a lot easier if I'd stop listening to everybody...but I don't want to be TOTALLY clueless, ya know?

Absolutely. I feel a lot of people think if they don't feel totally like 'this is the one,' then they can't go out together. Like there is no point of no return where they can't say no. I think guys handle this, generally speaking, better than gals. Likely because we're unemotional beasts. Yeah, I totally agree with you. Even if the date is just for laughs.
