Some of these people have never been around kids, huh?

When I worked at an "adult club," my husband and daughter (who's 4), sat in the car while I went inside for something one day, and one of the girls stepped out the door of the club. We had told my daughter that I was gonna be a waitress, which is what I was at a restaurant one time. The girl came out in a cute little outfit, and apparently my daughter saw her. When I got back in the car, my 4 year old asked, "Mommy, do you have to wear THAT kind of uniform?" I was confused until I realized what she had seen, then I quickly answered, "No. She's one of the real good waitresses. Let's go to McDonald's. I'm starving." She never mentioned it again.

For the record, I didn't work there long, and that girl got in trouble for going outside dressed in that outfit. The girls were supposed to stay inside the building, unless they had street clothes on.

Tell him its a book store for adults.
Or you could do like I did with my daughter, I work in a video store and there is an adult room. She kept asking me what was in there and I kept telling her adult stuff that was none of her business. Finally I told her there were naked jpeople movies. And she was like oh ew why would you want to look at someone naked.
lol I ended the conversation there. Sometimes honesty works best.

I don't think he really needs a lot of details. He is 6 years old, he has probably forgotten about it by now, so don't bring it up again. If he does bring it up again, all he needs to know is that it is a store for grown-ups. It sells things that aren't appropriate for small children's eyes or ears. Besides, if he is your nephew, that is a discussion for his parents to control They should decide when to discuss sex with him, and how to approach the subject.

Explain to him that its a store full of books just for grown ups.
He will ask you what kind of books.
Tell him that they have science fiction and murder mystery just like regular book stores only these are just for grown ups and if you say that they have a little bit of kissing that usually shuts them down six year olds hate for anyone to even mention that word. Hope this helps. . . .

Just tell him it is a grown up book store. Remind him how there are children's' books and there are grown up books. You don't have to elaborate details- he just wants an answer of some kind. Hope mine will help you in explaining to him.

I would tell him that it is an adult store I think that's what my mom told me whenever I asked as a child and I never thought anything more of it.

Yeah, just tell him that it's a store for adults. Tell him that adults don't like toy stores because those are stores for kids, and that he won't like adult stores because those are stores for adults. Then change the subject.

Tell him it's a store for grown-ups and change the subject.

Next time you have the kid in the car, drive thru better neighborhoods.

All you need to say is it is a place where grown ups can buy books that are not good for children.
