My dad was always one of these dads that never liked any gift much. However, one Christmas I took all of my parents old movie film they had in a closet and transfered to video. They hadn't seen the films in 35 or 40 years and my father actually cried. It's those things that mean the most. Try making him a special photo album and maybe include special memories that relate to the photos if no film is available. Good luck.

depends what hes into. my dad likes to read so for christmas i got this book for him called 'the world is flat' and its about how the world have changed so much and how its basically going down. or you could take him out and spend some of the day with him. take him out to dinner and see a movie. or bowling [if he can]. try getting him something sentimental. something that will mean alot to him and shows how much you love him. good luck on your search.

A person at his age usually have not much "wants" so, I'd give him something I know he needs. Like if his watch is broken, he needs a new cell phone or new (sun)glasses, winter coat, etc. whatever is within your means. If all these would not be needed, take him for a nice dinner

Hug him. Look him in the eyes, deeply. From your heart...thank him for life. He will never get a better, more memorable gift. No father can.
