HTIB stands for Home Theatre In a Box.

Depends on your budget and the size of your room and if your tv is HD (high-def). The cheaper one would be a HTIB. If you have a small room you don't need anything that powerful and expensive. It's just a waste of money. You're gonna pay for all that extra power that you won't even use. In a room around 15x15 all you need is something with 650W & 5.1 channel amp with surround sound.

I go along with Chris's answer. I have about a 15x15 room and I purchased an Onkyo HTS894 HTIB from Circuit City (<$700). It's the greatest system I've listened to.

generally buy a ready-made is better than hand-made,n it looks nicer too.but only HTIB is still not enough to enjoy,u've to buy a sound surround booster n a pair of tweeters in front of ur tv,n two more bass speakers (12 inches) behind ur seat,if ur room is big enough u put it left n right corners.but all these items need a good amplifier 4 supporting ur home theatre system.

best wishes n happy new year.
