Preparing their what? Children? Heck NO!! CalBerkely has been experimenting with nanotechnology for years that will quickly pick fruit like a champ. But, that really isn't the issue, is it?
The United States is rich and has jobs. Why? For the same reason Japan, Germany, Korea, England and others do. Respect for LAW and EDUCATION. Nations that have it are rich. Those that don't, aren't.
Did you happen to send this question via a device referred to as a "COMPUTER"? This device and its logical "thoughts" called "SOFTWARE" were not developed in lawless, uneducated nations. We're getting beat, beat, beat in this area. But by Mexico? No. By India.
Lucky for us, we have a LEGAL immigration policy and a very desirable country as evidenced by a huge influx of PhD's who've started tech companies here. Those companies have accounted for $52 Billion dollars of US GDP since 1995. Those are the REAL hard-working immigrants.
As for any other jobs, let's finally let the 6.2 million people waiting (legally) in line for (legal) immigration status. They're legal.
They work harder for longer hours, for lower pay, and are willing to assimilate, learn English, respect LAW in general and U.S. law in particular. They don't get 11 year old girls pregnant. It's like describing how Heaven will finally be...

My son already does one of those so called jobs that only the illegals will do.He scrubs the toilets at Walmart.Funny how everyone in his maintenance department is a white American male.Kinda blows the theory that only the illegals will do these type of jobs.

No one... everyone always says, "be a dr or a lawyer, go to college, just be somebody" to their children, but in the end they will do what they want, and the drop outs will be desparete and do the S HIT work

THE CHANGES WERE MADE TO HELP PEOPLE WHO HAD RELATIVES HERE SO THAT IS THE SMOKING GUN
AND MOST WERE COMING TO BE WITH ILLEGALS FROM A PREVIOUS GENERATION OF EARLIER IMMIGRANTS THAT WERE HERE THAT SNUCK IN YEARS AGO
