Before 24-hour restaurants were commonplace, the only establishments where a police officer could go during the midnight (aka "graveyard") shifts were doughnut shops which often stayed open 24 hours a day.

So yes, a lot of cops did eat doughnuts when there weren't many other choices available.

Cops usually drink coffee and quite often you will find coffee at donut shops. Typically, they get this stuff for free because the shop owners feel as if they are getting better protection by people seeing police in front of their shops. It is a nice way for the donut shop owner to take care of the police.

Nope...Police force's job is too over hype crime rates to make people feel more scared than they should be so they can extort communities in huge civil service contracts. Police have been turning into a racket since the Tammany Hall Days...that's why their major job assignment is ticket people on major freeways who are late for work to meet a financial quota so they can buy stock in Krispy Kreme. Don't get me started on the Widows and Orphans funds.

They eat all kinds of things, but that's where they always get spotted, at the coffee shops. And it's something they all can share.
