I live in the US and I'm finding it rather difficult to find information (stuff I understand anyway) any suggestions? Can anyone help me learn it?

de bossy one is wrong, and Rick S is just plain... ignorant. Basque is an isolate langauge, meaning that there aren no other lanaguages in it's language group. Portugese and Spanish are Romance languages. Although Basque may have some influence from the other languages form the vicinity, learning either of them won't really help.

The only way I can see you learning it is finding a class or an audio thing (which would be difficult, considering that Basque is not a well known language). I think the best choice would be to actually go to Basque Country, (Spain/French), and immerse yourself in the language.

Get yourself kidnapped by the Basque Liberation Front. Once they realise that you're just a 'peasant' - they might adopt you - if they don't tie you to a bomb in a Madrid railway station!

basque is a language dialect between spanish and portugese, but quite seperate from both. to learn it, you have to find a native speaker, or go there.
