did you back up your hard drive monthly as everyone should? so you can get that back 10 isnt bad.. you can download any of them from the media site. http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?q=updates+for+media+player+10+&mkt=en-US&FORM=SSME

P is absolutely correct (you can roll back to a previous version). Always use "Add / Remove Programs" for this type of activity and do not delete directory(s) / file(s) associated with WMP. You may inadvertently remove files needed for other programs.

Have you checked WMP11 settings / options to see if "find album info" feature is available, but perhaps not enabled?

You can use MusicMatch (now owned by Yahoo) or Winamp. I'm not sure if Winamp offers an album info feature, but I know MusicMatch does. Both have free versions available.
Unless I am misunderstanding, you cannot lose your mp3s by uninstalling a media player. You can only lose those files by deletion or hard drive failure.

Control panel / Add remove programs / choose to remove Windows media player then you'll get another option called ( roll back version ) then you'll find that the version returned to version 10 now i think you can install version 9 or leave version 10 it's great
