SSI benefits fir Illegals?? What do you think of that??

I heard about this on Lou Dobbs' show on CNN tonight. Apparently all Pres. Bush has to do is sign the bill into law and then illegals can and will qualify for SSI benefits! It took my mom 6 years and countless tries to get her benefits. There damn sure won't be any SSI for my generation and now this!

No....They should not get any benefits at all of any kind. If they want benefits, then they need to come to the US legally.

When my grandparents came to the US, They had to pay $10,000 per adult and $5,000 per child just to come and live in the United States during the 1960's. My Grandparents had to pay a total of $50,000 and he had to sign a paper stating that he nor his family will ever become a burden on the United States in any way. If they did break the law, the the US had the authority to ship them back to Chile where they came from.

So the F...in' Mexicans need to come into the United States the right way in order for them to get any of the benefits. Sorry...this hits a nerve for me! I don't hate Mexicans in general either, because My DAD is one, But I do hate the ones that some over illegally.

If what you say is true; it's things like this that keep fueling dislike and hatred towards illegals! Most of that focus is on the hispanics. While I don't have any close hispanic friends, I do get along with them easily and have nothing against them; but this immigration issue is driving a wedge between them and the rest of the US citizens. I am totally against illegals getting SSI, especially since I'll probably never receive any in my lifetime and yet I still have to pay into it.

SSI is a benefit for disabled people. Under current law giving it to anyone other than a citizen or legal immigrant is illegal.

I don't see how any bill can change that without changing the status of illegal immigrants. By the way, anyone can get medical treatment without being questioned. That's a burden on hospitals and medical providers.

actually there is already a bill in place that allows them to get some sort of benefits...it was created and approved by the democrats...also consider this...they already get financial aide and food stamps from the government, free healthcare and hospital care, individualized education and many other benefits all tax free while we pay...personally i don't care if they come here but they need to do it legally and also help bear the burden that the rest of us do so far as taxes and giving back. one argument for them being here is that its said they take jobs no one else wants...WRONG...many of the companies that hire them do it for a lot less and no benefits and refer them to the hospitals for healthcare for their families while not offering certain jobs to legals and only to illegals...sad but true and this is from personal knowledge not some second or third hand...i've seen it. the resort has been reported numerous times to immigration and the fbi but they do nothing....and you're right you will never see ssi and i'll just bet your mother had to practically beg for it and healthcare..FOR YOUR INFO - they get the benefits because they used stolen or fake id's, just like with drivers licenses that are fake they cause an accident that results in injuries or death to one of your loved ones and what can you do they head back to their home country and leave you will the bill and the higher insurance rates....and this isn't bush's fault for all of you who are bashing him...this is a democrat led bill being pushed by the dem's who say if he doesn't sign this then they will hold up anything he tries to get put through...its politics and the ones who suffer from these games are us ! wake up its not just the republicans...

I am disabled also and it took me years to get SSD.It was a very long process.If I wouldn't have had friends and family who helped me while I was waiting,my son and I would have been homeless.It isn't right that someone can come to this country illegally and then qualify for what US citizens are entitled to,but have to work so hard to get.It is sad when the government feels that people who don't even belong here are more important than the US citizens who have paid taxes their entire life.

I understand your frustration, this issue has been one I have followed for years.

Where we go wrong is in blaming and resenting the immigrants, most of them are law abiding, hard working nice people who are simply trying to build a life in a better place. This is exactly what built this Country.

We need to address the ISSUE of Immigration. Who profits most from this?.............Corporations. When illegals are caught, or more likely turned in, their lives are ruined.

When Corporations routinely profit from employing illegals our Goverment turns a blind eye.

The solution as they see it is to build a big freeking Wall.

They could have heeded the desperate plea's from our Border Patrol and actually funded this Agency 10-15 years ago. The did not. Nor will they, it serves Big Business best if we spend a lot of money building a wall any immigrant will happily spend countless hours digging their way under.

Pardon me for sterotyping here, but when was the last time you saw a man with a shovel who Wasn't an immigrant? They will do what the need to to make a better life for their loved ones.

Will we ever give significant fines to big Corps?

ARE YOU SURE???? All the anti-illegals have them receiving these benefits a long time ago. Along with other benefits they do not qualify for nor can they get. It just goes to show how misinformed most of these people are. BY THE WAY, THEY DESERVE SSI IF THEY PAY INTO IT.

I have been injured and can't get it. Lou Dobbs has been warning and warning about it for over a year! If one of them is using my social, I tell you what..Identity Theft is a felony and I will press charges!

To the rest of you out there, get a copy of your most recent Credit report. If there are any variations of name wrong initial or no middle initial, adrress you never lived at, someplace you never worked. Contest everything on it, Put a fraud alert and credit freeze on your file! Make a police report, have yourself fingerprinted and send everybody a copy of it! Contact social Security Administration give them the police report number, file fraud charges, get a copy of your earnings and benefit statement..... also Contact Federal Trade Commission file as many times as necessary with them for Identity Theft. Contact the United States Postal Service and file Fraud charges.
Make sure Enough of Them Goes To Jail!
Finally if you know where illegals are: REWARD yourself! Go to http://www.irs.gov download form 3949A, fill it out, make a copy for yourself and send it back Certified Mail. They will give you a 10% Reward for what they find wrong. For the Record there is a $1,000.00 fine for employers that hire them.

IT'S WRONG!!!!! Another example of Bush the idiot!!!! My son was disabled when his car was run over by a lumber truck.(over 12 years ago) and he only receives a pittance from the government for his barest of survival. The accident was not his fault. I cannot imagine that people will get more benefits than he is able to receive just because they are illegal. He will suffer medical problems for the rest of his life.What is wrong with this picture?
